Finnex FugeRay Planted+ Aquarium LED Light Plus Moonlights, Cliplight, Silver

I really like this light. I use the bigger Finnex 24/7 CC lights on my 55 gallon planted aquarium, so I decided to get their clip-on light for my Marineland 5 gallon portrait tank. It replaced the tiny/weak original LED light that came with the setup. The tank does get indirect sunlight, but I've still noticed more plant growth since adding the Finnex about a week ago. It provides good coverage for a small tank, and a much better light spectrum for plants than most little clip-on lights. I dose dry ferts and Excel and run the light on a timer for 8 hours/day. No issues with algae, though the Excel helps with that. The adjustable arm is easy to use, the mounting clip is solid, and the fixture is well constructed. Keep in mind that this can't extend very far from its base. My tank is about 12" from back to front, and the arm is at its max when positioning the light over the center. It's definitely made for a small tank. Though this light is pricey compared to other clip-ons, I think it's worth it for a planted setup. *Update* Over a year later, I'm still very happy with this light. Excellent plant growth and no problems.

I absolutely love this light! I use it for my 10 gallon planted aquarium and my plants have been thriving and growing well (I use excel). It clips on pretty good to my rimmed tank. Although, I'll suggest to not adjust it too much. With mine, it dented the part of the tank where I had tighten the screw to secure the light (which is understandable) and as I was adjusting the light it came off. Now I can no longer place the light on that same spot because of the dent. That was my only complaint, but it's now sitting about an inch from it's original spot which didn't make much of a difference. Just a warning to place the light where you want it permanently or don't tighten the screw as hard as I did haha. I have mine on a timer so I don't use the blue/night light but it is also very nice and shines a nice blue. I'd definitely recommend this product to others and I'd buy it again!

If there is anyone wondering if this light would grow your medium light plants in a 5g. Look no further! I can't even explain how happy I am with this LED. It even makes my plants pearl even with now CO2. I credit that to all of the 660nm reds that it comes with. Every single plant in the pictures are thriving! ( Banana Plant, Amazon Sword Compact, Penny Wort, Anubias Nana, Dwarf Sag, and Duckweed. ) It will grow algae if left on to long. I run mine on a timer for 12hrs though and have yet to come across an algae issue. The light does get a little warm but never gets hot. The goose neck is very adjustable and very strong and durable. If you are looking for a LED fixture to grow plants. This and the 16" Finnex Stingray are the best choices in my opinion. The finnex Stingray gives of a bit more blue tones but it will grow your plants since 5g tanks are so shallow. I've had this light for a good few months now and it grow almost any plant you throw under it as long as you tank isn't taller than 12 inches.

Both products were competitively priced at the time and offered similar performance. I decided to go with the Finnex unit as I suspected that it might be better for plant growth and it came with the optional blue LED only light setting. The unit is well constructed, no weak or wobbly points anywhere. Everything feels solid and tight and the light is easily adjustable, and it stays where you put it. The fixture claims to be water resistant (not water proof) and it does seem to have a good seal around the lamp. The light is capable of being mounted on either a framed or frame-less tank, but the drawback is the mounting bracket has a large overhang into the aquarium which may cause problems if you are using a full hood. In addition, the adjustment screw is positioned on the inside of the aquarium. This mounting bracket also houses the control switch for the light. The light has a 59 inch power chord which was more then enough for my needs. The light fixture uses a 3 position manual switch. You can select: *Full light -- Turns on all LED's (red, white and blue) *Blue LED's only *Off (Note that you can not turn on the red LED's alone.) You can use this light with a timer, however you can't switch between light modes using a timer. The light color appears to be closer to natural sunlight, not like the greenish color I got from the 6500K florescent tubes I've used in the past. The light output is brighter than I expected for a 5 watt light. I have this light installed on a tank that is 10 inches deep and it gets a fair amount of light right down to the substrate. That being said, the light output is probably best suited for up to medium-light plants. I've been using the lamp for a few weeks now and it has performed perfectly. I use this over a covered tank so I can't speak to the water resistance of the light, but I can tell you that it does indeed grow plants quite well: It will grow algae too if you're not careful. In using the light I have noticed a moderate amount of heat coming from the control box and I do have concerns about premature failure, (the short warranty only furthers that concern) but hopefully this will not be an issue. Overall, this light works quite well and I am happy with it thus far. I'm giving it 4 stars for now (because of the shorter warranty compared to its competitors). I will update this review after spending more time using this light. I want to see how it performs over the long term and then update this review accordingly.

The light is well constructed and good quality product but when it comes to brightness it is dim, like another comment noted this. Definitely for small aquariums less than 5 gallons and shallow tanks. Made for low light plants, if you need it for more light eating plants, this light won’t work which makes it very limited plant usage support. Overall, it’s an excellent lamp for small aquariums and low eating light plants since it has excellent APR light spectrum and will make your plants in your small aquarium happy.

Yo la tengo instalada en una pecera de 60 litros, con la luz de día creo que le hace falta un poco de mayor intensidad, pero la luz de luna cubre perfectamente todo mi acuario. Cuenta con una excelente radiación que ayuda al crecimiento de plantas y también de algas sino haces bien tu balance del tiempo de luz. Me agrada que puedes cambiar del tipo de luz con solo un botón, ademas de que es muy estética.

El producto buenísimo, super fácil de instalar y la iluminación de día y noche me pareció excelente. La utilizo para iluminar una pecera vertical de 90 galones y queda muy bien, sin necesidad de mayor iluminación. En general 100% satisfecho con la compra.

Tengo esta lámpara desde hace 8 meses. Primero fue usada con plantas de bajos requerimientos, sin co2, sin abonado, con excelentes resultados. Hace 2 semanas metí co2, abonado liquido y plantas de altos requerimientos, aun no me atrevo a dar una opinión concreta, pero de momento no veo que saque tantos rojos como esperaría. Regresaré para editar después de unos meses. UPDATE. BASTANTE BUENA PARA BAJOS Y CON PECERAS DE POCA ALTURA.

Excelente producto. Ya llevo más de un año con ella y funciona a la perfección. A pesar de ser pequeña ilumina toda la pecera (200 litros)
