The Occult Significance of Blood
A**A
The blood is a very special fluid and the devil understands it
I appreciate how the writer takes you through the arguments against the blood being a special fluid to the devil and then succinctly makes the case for that being a misunderstanding. I think the edit could have been done better in that the foreword by the editor and the subsequent writing of Steiner were barely separated, and the separation was not marked. However, it was plain enough who was writing by the style. I agree too that the blood is significant to the devil, as everything of the nature of the earth (realm between Hell and Heaven) is important to the devil. The blood has never been foe to the devil. The foe to the devil is a trick in the minds of mankind. The blood does not have enemies. It belongs to, flows through the animal of the earth. It is the essence of nature and of the living animal on the earth. Essence is by definition essential and, therefore, special.

Best content, worst imaginable publishing
This is an obscure contribution by Steiner on a most valuable and profound subject. All Steiner fans will be over the moon with joy at the content. That said, this is the most poorly published book I have ever held in my hands. Whoever the hell Kessinger Publishing is, they need to be put in stocks in the public square for this. Here's the problem:* The actual print on the page is a tiny square in the middle of each page. Most of each page is blank.* The contents of the book, Occult Significance of Blood, takes up half the number of pages. That's right.* The other half of the book is lame filler, consisting of a bunch of random symbols having absolutely NOTHING to do with the subject matter of the book. Appalling.I wanted to mark the book down because of this stupidity and misrepresentation. I figured 5 for content and 0 for presentation, then average it out. But I couldn't. The Steiner material, Occult Significance of Blood, is too amazing and hard-to-find not to actually (grrrrrrrr...) swallow the criticism and ignore the brainless presentation. It's just too good. But beware of these clowns from Kessinger Publishing.

That which has power over thy blood, has power over thee.
The frst section gets into criticism's of how other commentators viewed Goethe's Faustian Devil as possessing the very thing which he had an antipathy for, that is to say the blood of Faust. Steiner also takes it upon himself to destroy the notion that legends shouldn't be taken lightly as there is a significantly deep & profound ancient wisdom expressed in such myths. He then goes onto demonstrate how the hierarchical process of our evolution is shaped by the forces above & elaborates more examples through Hermetic/Theosophical concepts.Through this process he then establishes why the blood is of so much significance as it stands midway between the inner world of pictures & the exterior living world of form.He denotes to the reader, that a people can be destroyed, when colonizing, as a consequence of introducing the admixture of foreign blood to a species that does not belong to the same stock. The unmixed blood properly expressed the power of its ancestral life when it was mixed its connection was severed. It was from the moment that a people entered a new phase of civilization that ceased to preserve the old traditions & ancient wisdom handed down through generations by means of blood.Steiner brings it back full circle to Mephistopheles, in the story of Faust, reminding us that the "Blood is a very special fluid"Notes: I'm glad this body of work was given special attention by youtuber styxhexenhammer666. For those curious why i gave 4/5 stars was despite the number of spelling errors it did not take away & drastically alter the flow of this rewarding study. I would still highly recomend it. Those reviewers that left 1 stars clearly didn't take the time to overview the specs like they should before purchasing. Although this book is but 34 pages it contains within its layers a juicy meat that is nourishing to those seeking deeper insight & meaning in their journey."If a head & a book come into collision & the resulting sound is a hollow one, the fault need not nessesarily be that of the book!" - Georg Christoph Lichtenberg

Another Zine Sized Must Have
This short but succinct treatise is a must have for the serious occultist. The well edited paperback version is good for those of us tired of PDFs and people's hot takes they add to things.

One of the most sacred mysteries revealed!
This book goes beyond the mere symbolism that is often associated with "blood." It takes you right to the heart of its esoteric essence and will have you reconsidering and valuing, in a way you never have before, just what it is that is coursing through your veins! Incredibly profound.

Incredibly fascinating, slightly racist
Recommended to read from an objective point of view and recalling that Steiner was fascinated by the purification of the Arian race. Incredible insights on the esoteric physiology of blood, though. Awesome stuff. One might need to read Steiner's content on Theosophy, beforhand to truly understand the forces he speaks of in the process of the conscious progression of physical manifestations of the above in the below

Amazing!
Excellent, Marvelous & Enlightening book. It is highly recommended for those who are in spiritual path. Regular science never looks at the blood in this way.
