Beautiful piece

I got this globe for my little sister for Christmas who always wanted a snow globe. (I too always wanted one, so getting her this would help me live vicariously through her ;D ). I wanted to get a snow globe and music box two in one and this was a great integration of the two.There were but two aspects of this I would alter if I could. The "snow flakes" : I almost never like the "glitter snow flake" thing. They are just two light and transparent to give much of an effect. I much prefer the puffy white balls that more expensive globes tend to have. The second thing I kind of hoped this did was twirl around in a circle, like those ballerina music boxes. But it doesn't :(I didn't take stars off for it because the glitter flakes added to the delicacy of the scene and the price for this globe excused the lack of moving parts. On top of that I thought the paint job and the sculpting were beautifully done; and the music is a lovely, gets-stuck-in-your-head, nostalgic Christmas tune.So I'm thoroughly happy with my purchase and would recommend this to any first time globe buyer who's not ready to spend a boatload but doesn't quite want to settle. :)

It will make a nice gift.

We have lots and lots of snow globes that go in our china cabinet for Christmas. This year, I wanted one to be the centerpiece and this was it! Not only is it intricate and very well made; the "picture" is just beautiful and truly represents Christmas. It was the true focal point of the entire collection.

The glass ball was unattached, the music is tinny, and the paint job is unimpressive. I'm not bothering to return, but it's average at best.

The music is not pretty the look is not as pretty as I was expecting
