Are the bristles soft?! Im using this for my cat!

I have always brushed my dog’s teeth…never a problem. I purchased this brush because he needed a new one. I was impressed with the description and comments….however…used it for the first time today, and he didn’t like it at all…especially his front teeth. He let me know it was painful…the brush is going into the garbage where it belongs! I plan to purchase the store bought toothbrushes for young children!

It is made in China. Let that not deter you. I have been using it on my Belgian Malinois everyday and it still looks like new. I can vouch that it is made of good quality.

is this small enough for a little chihuaua with only a few teeth?

It might be. Not particularly familiar with a Chihuaua mouth. Brush head is 3/4 x 1/4 inch. A less stressful suggestion would be to use Premium Pet Dental Spray. I use both on my shih tzu who is 12 and has a full mouth of teeth.

How often should the brush be replaced

Depends on how often you brush your dog’s teeth. Also, it doesn’t last very long so I would say replace it when the brush part gets old. You will know when.
