Beautiful box, perfect pencils. Just near in mind that they are for painting, and are not effective for ordinary coloring in.

If you're in a position to consider this, I think you should get it.Somebody might say the deep blues and violets are redundant, if this wasn't waiting in their sketch book. I spent about an hour choosing these 18 colors for it, my first attempt with the Inktense medium.It's a little sketch based on Franz Marc's Blue Fox, so intensity was the deciding factor. I'm a sketcher - for most of my childhood a #2 pencil was all I had, but I always had it. Now instead of ruining my sketch when I paint it, I can just keep sketching! I'm going to use water color washes for the large areas next time, and if that doesn't work I'll cover it up with gouache. Now, when it's almost too late, I can have any art supplies I want.The box is wonderful. Go ahead and buy it, make your inner 12-year-old happy.

This is a wonderful set, and the wooden box is so beautiful; it makes it a pleasure to use. The one thing I would change is the wooden bars that keep the pencils in place. They're a little finicky. I would rather just have them be on a hinge that opens and closes and is held in place with a magnet at the other end. Aside from that, this set is stellar, and Inktense pencils are so much fun to play with. I will never be without them in my arsenal of art supplies. You can use them on paper or fabric, and the colors are rich and saturated.

Beautiful pencils that you can either color with or paint with. Look at you tube for inspiration! Endless possibilities! The box opens and closes magnetically and there is magnetic wood on the inside to hold the pencils in place. These are vibrant and beautiful- although a little pricey, very much worth it. I would recommend getting the blender pencil and aqua brush as well, so you can paint or use dry it's the blender pencil. Awesome!! Also a great complimentary set with Prismacolor pencils! I could color with these all day!

They’re pretty expensive for giving as a gift in my world! My only complaint is in the box I bought with them! The box is beautiful and I don’t regret it at all. My complaint is with the magnets. They don’t stay in the pencil guard. 😢HOWEVER…I’ve used this set for 7 straight days and have yet to reach for the sharpener. These go and go and go! When water hits them the real color comes to life! Brilliant! My castle tree (thank you Johanna Basford Worlds of Wonder) came out beautifully even without water! If your on the fence with these…just GET them! You’ll be very happy!

I just love the bright colors in the set . I am using them on fabric , they are fantastic . I embroider the fabric first the n use the pencils . The black and white pictures are the back . I use the Aloe, not water ( the water makes it run too much)

I haven’t even had a chance to use the pencils yet. This review, for the moment at least, is about the box.After going back and forth for a month on whether or not it was worth it to order the set with the nice box, I finally went for. It arrived today, and even though it’s a Christmas gift and I’m not supposed to use them until then, I decided to check the contents to ensure nothing was damaged. I’m so happy I did. The kid of the box is bowed in the center, as if it warped or something. Which means there are huge gaps showing around the edges of the box. After closely examining the box, I realized that the whole box is warped or twisted, it doesn’t sit flat on my desk but rather it bobbles back and forth. Not exactly what I was expecting from a company with typically high standards of quality.I’m so crazy disappointed, and now I have to figure out a way to get a return label (I have no printer) and find a way and time to return this or if I can manage to fix it. I was just so looking forward to these pencils and their supposedly elegant box.

I finally got around to opening this to use it and for the amount of money I was surprised at the condition. Box is ripped. The wood container has damage. Some pencils look like tips were broken. The 2 wood pieces to hold the pencils appear to have been repaired with one magnet half out. Disappointing.

I really did not want to burden the seller or Amazon but I am SO disappointed because I need a large range of pinks.Coloursoft has a lot of pinks and I expected the same of Inktense but there are none, only dark almost purple ones. So stressed out from all the searching and picking the wrong ones

These are great pencils. The wooden box looks classy. pencils are creamy to use and give a strong colour when water is applied. I need to use a thicker paper though to enjoy the watercolour!Only issue is they look too fancy to use. A good problem to have.

After reading the reviews, I finally ordered the 72 pencil set in the wooden box. The pencils live up to what they say, I love them. Also, I'm so glad I ordered the set w the wooden box bc it's high quality as well. Beautifully made, with magnetic closing and magnets holding the wood bars across the pencils, keeping them safely in place. Well worth the extra $20. Also, like several others, my set came in much faster than expected. Nothing was damaged, which is a big deal to me. I didn't know that the Derwent brand was of such high quality, and I would buy Derwent products without question, again.... but I always check out any reviews I can find first.

The pencils are awesome, really versatile and do all they promise to with a great colour rangeHOWEVER 1) I am a prime customer yet my parcel took just as long to arrive as if I wasn't, which is annoying as what's the point in having Prime if it's no guarantee? And amazon only let me know it would be delayed after waiting in all day for it to arrive2) there was a colour missing (replaced with a duplicate) and amazon wanted me to send the whole set back (despite them selling the individual pencils) which after the initial delay I really didn't want to have to doLUCKILY I emailed Derwent first and they sent me a replacement pencil with absolutely no fuss at all which arrived very quickly so should anyone else have this problem I suggest you try contacting them first
