Woooow I'm Amazed!!!
I never leave a review of products unless they blow me away. This thing amazed the hell outta me. Comes fully charged. Tried to charge it "24" hrs it wouldn't let me, it's full!!Tom me longer to mount it (10 mins) then set it up.Download an app.Click add camera, scan the QR code on the back of the device, name it , set a password and THAT'S IT!! VIOLA!! works like a charm. Easy. Fast and CLEAR PICTURE. OH and you can listen live?? Woooow. This thing is the best. I ordered 4 more!!! Watching my teens make sure there's no smoking drinking or any other acts that shouldn't be taking place when friends are over and mom and dad aren't home. But get it you will not regret it. Battery lasts a long time it says... whenever it dies, easy twist to remove it and charge it with a micro USB charger. Great product. I had to write a review.

App and video quality is awesome
Work's seamless with the app. The camera quality is good. The product could have a lot more functionality with the app. Motion detection is also awesome

Perfect instruction and makes the installation like a breeze
Been using it for few weeks now and very satisfied with the quality of record, live pictures and the use of apps. Very easy to install and pair with my network. Since this hidden camera only works on 2.4ghz connection, I need to do little set up on my router but that's not a huge issue for me. The battery is good for 180 days on stand by. If you can hook up a usb charger then you don't need to worry about charging the battery. The YiEye apps is very easy to use and I can check on my house when I am at work and nobody know about it.

Decent hardware but average/poor companion app
The hardware is decent. The picture quality is OK for a video surveillance camera and obviously not comparable to a smart phone camera or one with bigger lens like Wyze, Blink, Arlo or Ring. So average. There are a few problems that I observed:1. The files on the SD card aren't visible over the micro-USB connection2. The SD card is impossible to remove after you insert it once. The slot is not constructed correctly. So if you want to move/copy a large number of files then you are in trouble as you can't use the USB connection either. You have to use the app to share a file at a time. It took me more than an hour to copy/share about 20 files.3. The companion app user interface is poor and not very intuitive or easy to use.4. I can't record on the app. Event recording is automatic and fine but if I want to just record then I see the REC symbol on bottom right but the recorded/saved file isn't available/viewable anywhere in the app. So that's a bummer. The battery life is quite good and motion detection works most of the times (not 100%).--- I reduced the stars from 3 o 2 as I didn't get any customer support. I asked a question here on Amazon but no response, I sent an email to the developer and no response and then I posted a question on Google Play store app page and again there was silence. I want to retrieve recorded videos and there is no way to do that. Only retrieves events.

Solid (not perfect) performer so far
This is being used in an institutional setting for about one-two weeks now.Notes* Be aware that 30-foot range for motion detection is true. Anything beyond that won't trip detection.* Picture quality is not like what is shown in product listing. It varies a lot depending on lighting, movement of subject, etc. So far, I'd guess pic quality is typical for this kind of product.* Performance is solid enough that purchase of a second cam is being considered.Pros* Can move it to different locations as desired.* Motion detection quite reliable.* Instruction manual is decent.* Overall, it works (with some quirks).Cons* Motion detection can be fickle.* App is not great: Cannot control playback (rewind) video clips (must play to completion). Notifications start/stop working seemingly at random.* Battery life is unclear. "180 days" is if it's just sitting there on standby. If recording 10-20 clips per day & app is used multiple times throughout the day to access the live view, etc., still not sure what to expect. 4 - 7days? Less than 4 days?

Very weird product!
This is a somewhat good camera in my opinion. The good parts:- Camera supports a MicroSD card of up to 64 gigabytes in FAT32 partition.- Camera has a nice range of video capture to the side, not straight down.- The battery seems to last quite a long time, not just a couple of hours.- Records audio too even though this is not quite advertised.- Application needed has push notifications when camera gets triggered. The bad parts:- Video is 1080p, but with low quality and maximum 15 frames per second.- Videos are maximum 1 minute. However, this 1 minute can not be configured through current Yi Eye application (version 2.2.5 at the writing of this review). Duration of video can only be configured with version 2.1.9 of Yi Eye application, which needs to be downloaded manually from other websites.- The manual included in box is for version 2.1.9 of Yi Eye application, and this version has settings that newer versions do not have (like video duration). Newer version has camera trigger on certain area, which older versions of Yi Eye app do not have.- The camera can absolutely not be configured with version 2.1.9, but instead it needs a newer version of 2.2.3 or above. This is due to the different ultrasounds which are issued through the phone for its WiFi configuration.- Camera can only be configured through the app with an active online connection; and only afterwards it can record videos without the app onto MicroSD.- Camera can not be accessed without an online connection.- Camera needs online connection to keep track of time too. Without online connection there is no time printed on video either. If camera boots without a connection, the video names will start a date from year 1970 and there will be no time hard-coded inside video picture.- The Yi Eye app is not open source, therefore nobody knows what is behind it or how we may use the camera in future. The really ugly parts:- Basically this camera NEEDS to be online. Problem is: who else watches my camera? Or who else on their servers has access to the camera?- There is no registration on their servers. There is no account. There is no terms of service or contract for privacy.- There is no way to capture streaming through other software or LAN protocols.- All configuration is accessed through producer's online servers.- All videos can only be accessed through producer's online servers (or by manually removing and reading the MicroSD card from a computer).- If the app is no longer supported in future, camera basically becomes unusable, due to how it can not be configured or accessed anymore. If the app is gone, the camera is gone too. This makes it feel as if they don't sell a product, but instead they sell something like a service: as an access to their own servers through their own app, for a period which only the producer knows (because there is no contract or registration for that app). At such price point maybe is better to simply hire a surveillance company where their distribution handles everything. All in all this is a weird product. It is sad they struggled to connect it to their own servers, instead of allowing a simple streaming interface on it with an open port for easy access through a simple browser. This is one of those products with a great idea, but a bad execution probably to keep customers under control (my guess, otherwise I can't understand why use absolutely everything proprietary, even camera access).
