Dont think I will make it in 14 days but getting there
The book is quite easy to follow. I have never played an instrument before so I am completely new to this and i am having to take my time and read each bit a few times. It won't teach you how to play the mandolin in 14 days...
...but it has it's uses. However, as a guitarist I'm familiar with concepts that it doesn't explain well, so complete beginners may find it even harder to get into.

Actually true you really can!
I have *no musical talent whatsoever* and I bought a mandolin and this book and I'm on day 3. Despite several failed attempts with other instruments and books, I am actually learning stuff this time and am making nice sounds already! Being able to listen to the examples online is incredibly helpful. The book is a densely worded and you have to read carefully but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or any other book in the same series.
