Yasutomo Chinese Water Resistant Ink, 180ml, Black (CM18)

I have discovered new uses for this fine ink. I have applied it as a coating to several of myBaule, African Art sculptures with AMAZING results!!! I'm reminded of the African Art featured in museums, international art magazines, including Sothebys and Christies catalogs. The luster and depth of its sheen is palpable, simply sublime! It does not appear artificial at all.

This is the first traditional sumi I've tried. I use it for Kanji Calligraphy practice on simple art paper, it does not bleed through. I got the ultra black to replace a different type of water based ink I recently used, and I'm happy with it. The ultra black is a little thick but can be thinned by dipping your brush in water or adding a little water to the ink in a pallet; like you would to waterpaint.I've read some complaints about the smell, it smells like dirt or maybe moss. You can't really tell unless you deliberately sniff it.

This ink is quality product. I've been using it for quite some time on my art. My first bottle is going on nearly 3 years (didn't use it much first two)It's ready when you need it.highly recommend

Strong fluid pigment. I use it for making definition lines around and into carved designs in encaustic wax art. It was less expensive at Hobby Lobby though.

Good ink Works neat

A fantastic dense black ink. As per the manufacturer’s website, this in is NOT water resistant; in fact the description says: “ The unique adhesive formulation of the inks allows for increased stability but they will reconstitute in water.”

I have many inks. This is one of the very best, along with Sennelier's "Encre de Chine a la Pagode". Except that this one is much cheaper. Will buy again.
