The biggest problem I had was not these bulbs, it was the old ones. I had a couple bulbs break just getting them out of the lamp sockets. But once the new ones were in, they were whiter and brighter than the halogens. You will want to be sure you get enough to replace ALL your bulbs, not just the burnt-out ones. They are really that much better.

I installed this bulb in a desktop lamp that was rated for a 20w halogen bulb and was just too dim to be really useful. This 50w equivalent bulb only uses 3w, so it's perfectly OK to use in this lamp. Now I have a bright white desk lamp that works for me.

Replace the halogen lamps in my under cabinet lights with these. Cooler temp is almost the same and fit was correct. This should generate a lot less heat in my small camp kitchen in the Summer.

These came in a small nondescript metallic poly bag and looked ok initially. Unfortunately I'll never know if they work since they cannot replace the G8 halogens in my Ikea torch lamp as the contacts are not the same width (off by .0675") and were too short to make proper electrical contact. They might work for somebody out there, just not me.

Used on microwave over my stove. Very bright but they don't support dimming, which is ok.

These are yellow and not bright at all. The low level light is very low. Would not buy again.

It is not at all bright - the 50W looks more like a 20W.

I installed 3 of them as replacement for my halogen security lights. They are died in 4 nights.Useless as night security lights.
