I have had a half gallon bottle by this brand for 4 years. (I think about that long at least.) The build quality on it is great. I wanted the larger size bottle so I can put ice into it and still have a lot of room left for water.Overall I'm happy with the gallon so far. I haven't had it for as long as my other bottle. The handle is really nice it has a rubbery grip that is nicer than the pictures show. The lid feels pretty sturdy. It is a bit awkward due to how large it is, but I kinda expected it to be a big thing. Ice lasts a long time even in the heat of summer. (It's not in the sun, but it is in the heat of my apartment or at work.) I bought a big yogurt tub to make a giant ice "cube" that lasts a few days. I do try to only fill it with water that's fridge cold.The straw is nice to use, it would be more than a bit awkward to have to lift it up to drink out of it. I found cleaning pod things that are like alka-seltzer in that they bubble in the water. I put the lid in a bowl with hot water put in the pods and leave it overnight. They get everything clean with minimal scrubbing on my end. (I'm lazy so it works great for cleaning it.)I got the jug in purple and the color is really nice.Overall I'm happy with the purchase, it is expensive, but the quality of it makes it seem worth it. (And holding ice for as long as it does.) I can't talk about it's longevity, but if the build quality is like the half gallon I have it should be good and long lasting.

During a power outage in summer, I wad able to fill this thing up with some cold bottled water. The thing stayed cold for a few ways in 95+ degree heat. I also joke and say it's my morning star that I can swing around and hit creepy people with if needed

It needs a different top.I can't seem to get rid of the plastic taste, no matter how much I wash/soak it.Other than that? It does it's job, and holds both a lot of water, AND a lot of ice.(which is a great thing, since I live in the desert)Oh, and the top, is an absolute BEAR to remove, once it's been on after a while.
