Those who think they know what they are talking about, are annoying the one's that do!
I have been an amplifier enthusiast, and the birth of home cinema I also embraced from the early days right the way through to now. I don't pretend to be a "professional" like some of the 1 star haters. If they are indeed "professionals" then my God, standards have dropped. I will say it and get it out of the way. Take no notice of the 1 star reviews as they clearly know nothing. First consider the price. You would think by the way they go on about melting cables, insulation ripping whilst separating the wire or fitting plugs, yaba yaba yaba. There is nothing at all wrong with this speaker wire for the Home enthusiast. I will explain. Well, I've had 3 x 20m and every reel has been the full 20m everytime. I have used this on a 100wpc @ 8ohms Denon 7.2 system and that was driven hard as a cinema amp, and played for extended hours as a music amp loudly, I can do that as I live miles from other people, so no worry about complaints. I then upgraded to an even more powerful cinema amp, a Marantz Cinema 30 a £4000 140wpc 11.2 system, this too has been driven, just as the Denon, hard, and my wires haven't melted. With both of these amps I have kept the same speakers utilising 8ohms again, using old but excellent, Monitor Audio Silver Floorstanders, and Tannoy Large Box Satellites + 2 x 8" Powered Subwoofers, if it ain't broke, kinda thing. I did consider buying other speakers, but new speakers sound awful, and I didn't fancy breaking in for extended periods of time, maybe 100 to 200 hours of loudish sound, be it music or audio designed to speed the process up. I much prefer to buy far better quality speakers secondhand. Not only have they been already run in, but for the same money as a pair of brand new, mediocre speakers, think KEF or Mission. You can buy a really good pair of speakers for the same price costing many thousands when new. Thats a good tip for you genuine potential users. If you have reasonable quality speakers. Don't consider changing them unless there is a vast mismatch between a new amp output, and speaker handling. Run in speakers always have a warm soul about them, so don't chuck them., or if you can't use them, sell them on Ebay to offset the cost of a much better pair of speakers from the same outlet. I don't understand the haters out there, the ones giving it 1 *. These so called "professionals" are clearly not, if they can't strip wire without it tearing. For the price, the quality is very good. I would say, it's ideal for runs of up to, 40ft, and will easily handle I guess 180wpc @ 8ohm, you certainly wouldn't want to use this gauge on any larger run as the sound may start to suffer, any longer get the next thickest cable, 14AWG or if money isn'tan issue and you like to approach jobs, belt and braces, go one more to 12AWG, for any regular or larger house, this will more than suffice, just ensure it's solid copper wire NOT coated aluminium. Anything over this for the average enthusiast is overkill and a waste of money. You can get anal, and spend stupid money on thicker cable, but in all honesty, once you get beyond 14 or 12AWG, there is no point in going any thicker for the average home or cinema room. That is unless you have ridiculously long runs of over 100ft. I'm of the belief that the average enthusiast buying anything thicker than 10AWG if you have long runs. Anything more is the audio worlds equivalent of measuring d+cos, by people with little knowledge and more money than sense! The only stipulation I would say is worth bearing in mind, is the use of OFC (Oxygen free copper wire). If you are having trouble thinking i'ts better to buy 12AWG Aluminium Copper Coated Wire or 16AWG OFC Wire, always choose OFC, even though the aluminium copper coated wire is thicker, it's far more inferior than the not so thick OFC every time. Stripping wire and parting cables has never been an issue for me, not once. Forget these so called 1* "Professionals", if they are having the problems any of them are saying they are having then they are doing something wrong, very wrong. For the Home Cinema enthusiasts such as I, this wire is very good value for money and does its job very well. I have experienced 0 problems, I really don't know what planet they're on? Give it a go. If it's short then send it back, if it strips tearing the insulation, go back to school and hone your wire stripping skills, oh, and with the money saved on not over spending on needless thicker wires, buy a decent pair of strippers. The spend will be worth it, you will only need to buy them once! I highly recommend this wire. You're certainly getting the most bang for your buck There is a saying I recall. I may not get every word verbatim, but it goes something like; Those who think they know what they are talking about, are annoying the one's that do! Very apt, when looking at the rubbish the "professional" haters are leaving.

Clean, thick, and signal-safe—solid cable for home audio, van setups, or site sound systems.
This cable’s built for clarity—oxygen-free copper (OFC) gives clean signal flow with minimal loss. 2.5mm² thickness handles power well, ideal for full-range speakers or longer runs without drop-off. Transparent sheath looks tidy and lets you see the copper—adds a pro touch to installs. Polarity markings are clear—no guesswork when wiring up. Flexible enough to route through tight spaces, but tough enough not to kink or split. Great for home audio, van sound systems, or site setups where you want reliable wiring that won’t need replacing. Perfect for anyone who wants solid audio cable without faff or signal compromise. Minor gripe: no spool—comes coiled, so prep takes a minute. 👍 Pros ✅ OFC copper—clean signal, low resistance ✅ 2.5mm² thickness—handles power, long runs ✅ Clear polarity markings—easy install ✅ Flexible sheath—routes easily, no kinks ✅ 50m length—plenty for full setups 👎 Cons ❌ No spool—manual uncoiling needed ❌ Not pre-cut—measure and trim yourself ❌ Transparent sheath—may show dust over time

Good value but not for audiophiles
Having stumbled on information about cable guages and speaker requirements based on cable lengths I realised that my 17AWG QED micro cable was not sufficient for the 8m run to my right 6 Ohm speaker and that I needed something around 14AWG. I then entered the rabbit hole that is do speaker cables make a significant difference to sound quality and how much do you spend. Checking the audiophile forums this cable seemed to be reccomended by the camp that believes as long as the cable is decent quality copper spending more is a waste of money, and this option was exponentially cheaper than choosing the other camp who believe the more you spend on speaker cable the better your system will sound. So I purchased a reel of the 2.5mm 13AWG KableDirekt cable and connected my speakers. Having read that thicker cable improves bass response I can happily report that the KableDirekt cable has beefed up the bass coming from my speakers considerably which is great as this was definitely lacking when using the QED micro. The downside is that there is a definite decrease in mid range definition and clarity which makes the music seem a little muddy. I don't know whether or not I believe in speaker cable burn-in as much as I believe in your ability to get used to and accept the quality of what you are hearing over time but either way I'm hoping that the sound will improve otherwise I will have to be joining the other camp and spending out considerably more on upgrading. I can see why this cable is reccomended, it allows speakers to have a good punchy sound that would be ideal for home theater setups or for a pair of higher end computer speakers, but it appears to lack any real clarity that is a definite requirement for an audiophile system. I guess this has been an abject lesson that you get what you pay for.

These cables were an excellent upgrade to my old cables that came with my Harman Kardon 5.1 system. The audio now is much more crisper and detailed and I have noticed a clear difference in the sound. My speakers were always good and these cables finally do justice to their capability. Very happy with the purchase and I will buy more cables of this brand if required in the future.
