Excellent collection of folk posters, flyers etc - but very, very expensive
This is a marvellous collection of posters, tickets, flyers, adverts and related materials of the American folk scene primarily from the 1930s through to the 1960s. For the folk enthusiast, this is a must-have and the material itself easily deserves 5 stars. The book is well bound and is on very high quality paper. A beautifully finished product. However, the price at US$52 via Amazon (it's more expensive elsewhere) is outrageous for a small-ish 170 page book - and a book where you would look at the posters etc perhaps once or twice and then put it away on your shelf (there is some decent but little narrative in the book). Hence the 4-star rating. The publisher, University Press of Mississippi, seems clueless when it comes to setting prices. Regrettably, very few people will buy it at this price.
