A Look Into The Life of a Depraved Killer
Despite being touched by mental illness and a sense of superiority, Gary Heidnik's high IQ provided him with options. The author takes us through the dysfunctional family dynamics, the aloof personality, and the struggles for Heidnik to fit in. You see opportunities that could have sent him in a different direction, away from where he ultimately ends. We, the readers, are introduced to the victims through photos, as well as through the stories that show their will to survive. The story of Gary Heidnik ends as one would hope, with justice being served. As an avid reader of True Crime, this was everything I look for in a book. It had all the elements: a look into the killer's childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, the downward spiral into darkness, respect given to the victims, and a resolution that makes it a little easier to sleep at night. I recommend this book to everyone, not only regular readers of the genre.

This book was 77 pages long, more of a paragraph than a book. Not that well written & not worth the money. I'm 81 years old & have read true crime since I was 10 years old! I want a book that has some meat to it. I f I could get a refund I would gladly accept it. I in no way blame Amazon for this mediocre book. Thank you Sincerely Dorothy Brown

VERY short book.
This book is only about 70 pages long and the type is huge. It’s more like a short story or long article than a book. It isn’t written super well and there are some type and grammar errors. I’m just not impressed, especially for the money I paid.

Not great and not terrible.
I would give this two stars, but it does serve the purpose of being the only full length bio of Heidnik and his crimes available on kindle, and at this price point maybe not too much should be expected. The author obviously spent some time researching contemporary newspaper articles on the subject, and deserves credit for that. RJ Parker can't be faulted for the fact there is no new info here, when the case has been closed for 30 years. The 2 stars deducted are for the poor writing technique and middle-school-book-report pacing. In terms of length and delivery this reads like a first draft of an article that would have been submitted to one of those 1980's pulp stock "true crime" detective magazines. That's not actually bad, but not really good either, leading me to rate the e-book, "It's OK", or 3 stars.

Complete rip-off!!!
I should've paid more attention to the reviews and product details. This "book" only contains 70 pages of actual content. The rest is just blank pages, info about the author and other dumb nonsense. The writing is very large and there are a lot of crummy, pixelated black-and-white pictures. You could seriously read this entire PAMPHLET in about a half an hour. What a scam! AVOID!

Terrible "Book". I use the word book loosely as it's very short large font. No story here, just a 6th grade level book report. If this guy is an author than we can all be authors.

Disappointing
This book is more of a summary than an in-depth, compelling look into the life and crimes of Gary Heidnik. Aside from that, as another reviewer mentioned, it’s poorly written. It’s 77 pages long, regular sized print. I will never buy another book written by this author. Definitely not worth the $8+ it sells for. If you’re looking for a good read about Heidnik, skip this one - it isn’t it.

Over-priced essay
This is very over-priced for nothing more than an essay. It is less than 70 pages of actual reading in large print with many pages containing a paragraph or a small picture with a paragraph. I was very disappointed with the "book"

Waste of money
I haven't actually read this yet but I wish I'd read down to the bottom of the reviews and took their advice. Turns out the book is only 86 pages long, and half of that is big print and pictures. Wasted nearly £7 on a book I could basically read on Wikipedia. As a proper true crime fan I'm very disappointed, it will take me less than an hour to read. Don't waste your money! !

Very brief and not well written
It was very brief, more like a long newspaper article than a book, no proper insight into any of the characters, backgrounds, setting the scene, it was a waste of time reading that.

Absolute waste of money.
This isn't a book, it's a pamphlet! 82 pages, of large font and line breaks. Very brief summary and tells you nothing that ten minutes on a search engine couldn't do. Don't waste your money.
