GREAT HISTORY
It is great to be able to get this book. It was printed over 70 years ago. I love Amazon for this reason.

Publicación falsificada
Es una impresión apócrifa del libro. Incluso el título en la portada (Why England Slept) es diferente al que aparece en l lomo (While England Slept).

Best Book on Pre WW2 UK Run Up
The Book is an in depth look into the run up years of WW2, it covers the shifting of UK Public Opinion from pacifism to a War footing and the Actions the UK Government wanted to take (based on the state of the world) and the actions it could take based on the majority of UK public opinion in that given year; Roughly a chapter covers 1 year of the 1930s. It also compares the UK to other nations in regard to Military expenditures and why the most powerful countries took the courses they did leading up to WW2.It examines how the German system at the time was a dictatorship and the Military advantages this gave it, including why Britain reacted so slowly due to it needing a wake up call to shock the British public into action, which it received at Munich. Its surprisingly relevant to today as it is a blueprint for how a democratic system can fight a Dictatorship successfully. The time at which the book is written adds something to it, at the time of writing J. F. K . did not know the outcome of WW2 and America had not yet been drawn in, but he draws comparisons in how the UK paid the price for not reacting soon enough and was asleep, he notes this as a warning to the people of the USA, as much the same could be said for the people of the USA at the time.Yamamoto put it well "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.", this can be said for all democracies, they will stand idle until that one thing they hold dearest is threatened, their freedom, and will react with a resolve that no dictatorship could hope to match.
