These are advertised to not have the mesh lining but they do.

My son wears a 34 in the waist, I ordered a large and they fit great. Very pleased with the quality and fabric. I actually went back to look at what I paid for them because I have paid much more for less quality. Will definitely be buying more from this brand.

These fit great on a tall, thin teen. He was very happy with them. It is a constant battle to try to find reasonably priced clothes for a teen with more of a basketball build than not. (Drawstrings are our friends.) If the clothes fit the waist, they are not long enough, or are too small in the butt and thighs.These shorts are not in those categories. The material is soft, and, miraculously, the shorts actually fit at his knee or below, depending on how high up he pulls them. (He is so thin and leggy that shorts look much shorter when they aren't to his knees.)These shorts also were nice because they fit his waist and have the adjustable drawstring, but weren't extremely wide on his legs. He had plenty of room in them, but didn't look like he was borrowing someone else's clothes that were too big for him, as sometimes happens with other shorts and pants.However, for swimming, they do not have the mesh liner. That doesn't matter to him, because he loves them, and might just wear them for non-swimming shorts if he doesn't want to use them with regular underwear for swimming.The small was good sizing for a tall, thin teenager with long thighs, who normally wears anywhere from a size 28-30 waist, a small, or a medium tall. These shorts might not be the best choice for someone husky. The material is supposed to be stretch material, but it didn't seem to have a lot of stretch. But it is very soft material, and seems like it would be comfortable to wear.

I ordered these "swim trunks" last March as an alternative to athletic-wear... (I have the black and green ones which I'm not too sure they offer anymore, at least I don't see them.)To keep this short:Cons- Pockets could be deeper (phones - seem to ONLY be getting bigger and more expensive...)- The velcro for the back pocket no longer sticks, at all. (but that's not sayin much)For negatives, that's about where this ends. I wear my clothes and shoes into nothing! So, at this point I'm quite satisfied with the (it was 19.99 at the time) purchase. TO BE CLEAR! this review is simply because I can't stand Amazon reviews... People receive an item, open it, and then rate it! You get no sense of the quality or LONG TERM USE, which is what matters.Pros? Nah, the LACK of cons are the pros.

Very nice lightweight fabric. Not clingy or full of static. I purchased the orange cacti print which is a fun print. Sits comfortably at the waist and runs true to size. Elastic waist is not too thick, and stretches nicely. I am 6'4" and the shorts hit just above the knee. A big plus for us tall guys. HOWEVER, the side pockets are VERY shallow. Forget keys, let alone wallet or cell phone. Maybe a lip balm? The rear pocket is deep and has a velcro closure. The rear pocket is fine and secure for a wallet. I would purchase again, but just can't give it five stars due to the side pockets.

My son loves these shorts, but unfortunately they are way too large for him. Many of the reviews said the shorts run small so I ordered an XL instead of a Medium but they were 2 sizes too big and we gave them to someone who wears an XL and they fit him perfectly. I'll be ordering another pair in Medium because they look awesome. Would recommend these for sure, but would suggest ordering ones actual size.

These are really well made, the fabric is the right weight, not too thin, smooth and lightweight. The cut is not super baggy like many others we have purchased, my son is thin and tall (6'1", 152 lbs, 29"waist) so it's hard to find anything long enough that fits in the waist. I did get the medium and take it in about an inch on both sides in the back waistband. He really likes them, they were used in his High School PE class, it was important to him to look good and have good coverage, and a secure waistband.

Great swimshorts that look good and fit as expected. Material is durable and comfortable with a nice mesh lining. Dry superfast and aren't overly clingy when exiting pool or sea. Highly recommend these to anyone undecided.
