Good book, awful editing
I have enjoyed many of this author’s books. I particularly liked The Black Guard, The Tasmanian Special Forces, Scales of Justice, Talon and The Shadow Ryana. While the female lead characters are exceptional physically, it’s their intelligence and creativity that ensure their successes. The reason I gave this book four stars instead of five is due to editing. Others have noted issues with punctuation, but the problem is bigger than that, it extends to content. For example, one branch of the military is referred to as commandos, then marines, and then commandos again. In another example, a supporting character (Haber) is a sergeant, then a lieutenant, and then a sergeant again. Although I find punctuation errors annoying, I can usually dismiss them without it diminishing my enjoyment of the book too much. However, content errors such as those above are very distracting and do impact my enjoyment of a book. It would be great if at some time this book could be revised and reissued. In the meantime, I look forward to its release as an audio book, and to the next book in the Tasmanian Special Forces series.

5 stars as usual for CR Daems' books
CR Daems is one of about 4-5 authors whom I like enough that I would buy one of their books on the first day it comes out. This book continues the story of Rivka and the black Guard and although it does not show any real progression or anything new for the series it is still a good book.I have a minor peeve with this book and I am finding it in many of the other books I have been reading including the others of my favorite authors. I was not an English major but it still makes me feel like I would if someone scratched a fingernail on a blackboard when i hear a phrase like, "He sent the messenger to Robert and I." So many authors are using the words "I" or even worse, "myself" when "Me" is the correct term. I think that perhaps all authours should do a word search for the words "and I" to see if that's what it should really be.Other than that though, as I said, I love all his stories.

Good book
This was pretty good book. I really like the black guard series, and enjoy reading all 3 books. I definitely will be buying and reading next one when it comes out, because the story line is captivating, main heroine is strong, smart and professional. Secondary characters all multidimensional and act like real people would. The only reason I gave it one star because there was too much religious content in this series, especially in the last two books.

Captain Sapir's Continues to Modify the Jax Black Guard
I have been waiting n for a new Black Guard book for some time! C.R. Farms has multiple series going and I follow several of them. His stories are interesting, well thought out, and have characters that I enjoy or despise, both are needed for a great book! Captain Sapir is a character to empathize with. Hired to do a job, many of her clients consider the Black Guard expendable cannon fodder. Captain Salir considers her fellow Black Guards and all Jax, as family! Definitely read book one before the other two to get the full development of the Black Guard under Captain Sapir's influence!

So much left on the table
The Black Guard always rocks, but it is getting too easy for the heroine. Her reputation smooths the way. This one is audacious in her radical decision of who to kill. But the author works overtime to villanize the guy. I would prefer a more even fight. EVERYONE WHO READS DAEMS ... lobby for Black Guard vs. Red Angel. I want to see that match up!

If you like reading stories based on military strategies then ...
I like stories with intricate plots and a moral compass. So far, these books are a fun read worth following. The main character is a strong female soldier whose spent years developing killing skills yet prefers a more pacifist way of life. Her unique approach to solving a "no win" situation is what keeps the reader intrigued and wanting more.

Decent stories.
Interesting exciting stories but could use a story editor. Worth the money and will buy the net in the issue.

Sweet Spot of series but it took a while to read cover to cover
I'm now into the series and I'm retired, just getting over losing my wife of 45 years and well past 20 years I knew her before so I've got time, when you can't sleep at night cos there's a gap in the bed and cold, and you can read cover to cover 3rd book in the series and its getting technical now and dare I say a damn good read now I've started figuring it out and who's who. I understand it better now, though I have had to go back and read a few bits again, not uncommon nowadays considering. But a brilliant and straightforward read. Of course, you are different and maybe don't see the series the same way, I do change my mind occasionally so every body is different and we're all entitled to an opinion (as long as..)?

Dragons rule
This series is very similar to the Tasmanian series, that said as i've mentioned before very J,T. Edson like. They are fast and very tongue in cheek and good entertaining light reads if you like this sort of thing, I do. Sapir is very similar to Jolie in the Tasmainian series and if you like one you will like the other, Sapir's character seem to be developing more depth though. The book has episodic chapters that are well linked and for pure fun as good as any other that I'vr read. Come on book four.

Conscience free violence
Remains simplistic and Direct. Suspend belief brain and empathy in order to enjoy this. Quite repetitive with the misogynistic males getting shot or educated in short order by the peerless and emotionally detached Rivka. Nevertheless if that's what you're in the mood for - Go for it!

Yes
I’ve read this series book by book and you can see the literary progress of the author. The flow is amazing and the plot line(mission by mission) is as riveting as always. I’m going to need another one, like right now.

She’s back!!
Absolutely loved the third instalment of “The Black Guard”. After waiting quite awhile for this book to come out I must admit it didn’t disappoint. It was great to read about Rivka again and how she problem solves different scenarios for her clients as well as minimising the death of “the black guard”. It was also interesting to see that Rivka becoming more spiritual in as the book progresses.
