Make your Shop/Work Aprons last longer!
Like the title says, these are easy-to-do! I need to wear a shop apron much of the time, to keep my clothes from getting mucked up, or torn. When wearing a denim shop apron though, often times I catch the larger lower pockets on something, especially when they have a tool in them, and they are more open, and prone to catch on something while I am moving about. For the price, these Tandy Leather Factory Easy-To-Do Series Rapid Rivets, only adding about .50¢ to each apron, when I add a rivet to each of the topside corners, of the larger lower pockets.I have finally, recently, taken this extra step, in helping to keep my aprons lasting longer. This purchase gives me enough to do this on several aprons. It has made all of the difference in the world, and has them lasting much longer for me. All without having to go to the extra expense of getting them mended, or replaced.

Great product! First-time leatherworker.
Used this set to make a door-hanger contraption for my dad. I had never attempted any sort of leather work before and was nervous. The rapid rivets were SO EASY to use and the project came out fantastic. There are different sizes which really fit the bill since I was working with different widths/thicknesses of leather strapping. The end result was so excellent that I've made more. I did consult Rapid Rivets online tutorial which was really helpful.

Easy to Rivet
I used this set to make a series of quality belts, which fit me perfectly, after purchasing the buckles and reusing some leather straps. The rivets are easy to set and the package includes small, medium (which worked for me) and large rivets in both silver and bronze. These are rapid rivets, so only one side (the cap side) is presentable. The anvil and setter they provided did their job. Employ the flat side of the anvil and the concave side of the setter against the rivet head. I used a regular hammer, a few solid wackes giving a good seat, instead of the wood mallet the instructions recommended. Moreover, beforehand, I experimented with the rivet sizes on some scraps I hole-punched to see which worked best. If you are doing belt alteration or repair, these rivets give a professional finish. If you want visual instructions (if the video is still available) checkout Youtube by typing in the key words "Setting a Rivet" and watching MainLineIndustries' video to see how these particular rivets function (though the ones displayed are double caped).

Does exactly what you need it to do
I was a little worried that I might have trouble striking the bar and not have the rivets slip off the base because I was expecting the pieces to mold to the rivets just a little more. However, I had no trouble whatsoever.I used this to attach name plates onto my dogs' collars as the engraved plates came with rivets but no way to attach them! I like that there is a mix of sizes. I have no experience attaching rivets and I had zero trouble using this tool. Worked perfectly. Don't know how many other projects I'll need it for, but this did the job easily and perfectly.

Easy to do is an understatement. I love Tandy.
Tandy can't be beat. If you want to do leather work or canvas work, buy your tools and supplies from Tandy. Sometimes the price is a bit higher but it is worth every penny. Example: I had a Tandy hole punch for over 20 years. Recently I had to box almost everything I own due to damage to my home from a storm. While I wait for the work to be finished fixing the house I wanted to do some leather work. I couldn't find the punch so I bought an inexpensive one, it wasn't worth a dollar at a yard sale. I bought another for just a bit more money, same thing. I knew better so I got a high end one and decided to buy as much from Tandy as I could afford. It is worth it. Oh, and these rock..

Perfect solution for many uses
Used these to make leather sheaths for hatchets and axes. Worked perfectly, no problems with connecting the two pieces. They hold very tight, one project had a strap with a snap and I did not aline it properly. When snapped the strap was slightly twisted and the rivet held so tight it would not rotate even a few degrees. I had to drill it out and replace the rivet with the strap at the proper angle. If the post is too long for your project use a Drexel cut off tool and shorted to any length. With this in mind buy the ones with longer posts and they will work for a wide range of material thicknesses ...

Good rivets but it takes a few tries to get used to
I have used this set before but I haven't opened this set yet (my old one is buried somewhere in my craft stuff) I have used this brand and type of setter before and it takes a few tries to get the feel of them so they set well and don't bend/dent the tops. I bought this to use on leather and possibly kydex/bolatron . I have too many craft/projects, if you haven't used one before I like to use a rubber/dead fall hammer of about 5 pounds not a normal hammer and on a sturdy surface that can take the hammering. Remember you have to make a hole that will fit the rivet.

Great rivets, but easily bent out of shape
These are great rivets, but they can be hit or miss, quite literally. The set includes a mini anvil and setter (that you smack with a hammer) that work great...as long as you get it perfectly centered over the rivet when you hammer it down. The rivets that I meticulously aligned and *very carefully* hammered look beautiful and professional, on the front and back of the piece. However, the ones that I got lazy with turned out absolutely horrid. They bend to the side and out of line VERY easily, which can result in bent caps and crooked, off center sets. I try and use the shortest post' I can get away with, as it helps with the bending and tilting :)There are three sizes in posts included, and two sizes of caps. All in all, these really are beautiful and hold incredibly well.
