My Reading Journal

I love this journal. Even resourceful for adults

This book has many reflection tasks that can be attempted for any book the child may have read. Half the book is full of these tasks divided into fiction and non fiction. It is a good way to tach active reading and visual strategies.The latter half of the book is a set of one pagers for book reviews . There are different prompts for every two pages . So the child doesn't get bored.Lastly there is a reading log list.

This reading journal has a variety of wonderful strategies and graphic organizers to help early readers at any level! I love how user-friendly this journal is and can be very effective at home as well as in the classroom. There are many different strategies and techniques offered that allows for differentiated instruction throughout the reading process. It encourages the reader to process on a deeper level and really understand what may help them to grow and become a better reader. I found this to be very useful and provide new and creative ways to engage and promote a young reader!

This book contains a lot of great tips to help kids keep track of their reading and encourage them to read.

I downloaded this as a ‘try before you buy’ thing. It’s wonderful! There is a lot of advice in the front of the journal and then an array of activities for both fiction and non-fiction books. Kids can choose to write poems or make movie posters - so many fun ideas. You can tell this has been written by someone with a lot of teaching experience. I would say this is brilliant for homeschooling parents, teachers or for anyone who wants to encourage their kids to get the most out of their reading time.
