Giant knife, well designed and made, good value
Huge and it came very sharp. Balance is better than you would think because the blade has been ground fairly thin over a lot of its width. The blade back is still suitably thick, however. Very well finished. The sheath is well put together functionally, but cheap and generic. Not sure what you could use this for, other than one-upping Crocodile Dundee. It would probably work pretty well as a machete, but you can buy a bigger Tramotina for $25. You could baton with it, but it’s almost too big and definitely too nice.Bottom line, it’s a intimidating weapon, but not something to use in real life. That said, it’s very well designed and made for the cost.

Very good bowie for the price.
Alot of people that have reviewed this knife have talked bad about the sheath for it, i don't know if they got a different one than me or that the company fixed the sheath. All I can say is that the sheath is great, it's made of leather and the only problem with it is it fits very snugly, if you actually use this knife the sheath will get looser and it fits very well after alot of use.I can add that most of the people buying this are not even going to use the knife anyway, so i don't see the problem with the sheath being tight. As for the knife I have used it quite a bit as of now and it is very nice for a bowie, i have cut down several big limbs "3 - 6 inches circumference" with it and it did nothing to the edge, no curling no dulling as of yet. All in all a good stainless steel blade and tough enough for most users. I personally wouldn't baton stainless steel but I actually think it would hold up for awhile if you had to.

Basically a short sword . Great buy for a collector.
I Was a little hesitant to buy this knife. 60 dollars is a bit much, but it's a quality blade despite being made in china. If I had to compare it to anything it's basically an oversized kitchen knife. Decently sharp, but It kinda has skinny handle syndrome unfortunately. But it feels solid in the hand at least. I do not believe it's full tang though like the description says. Feels more like a half tang maybe 3/4 tang. The sheath is absolutely exquisite. Belt loop, Good leather, and a slit where the blade edge draws to keep it from accidentally cutting your sheath. Good stuff. This knife has some heft to it though if you're looking to use this for home defense or tactically, get something else... The knife isn't terribly heavy, but it's hard to swing in close quarters it does not swing fast. Honestly I wouldn't even call it a knife it really is a short sword. Great addition to the collection!

Excellent Product.
Reasonably sharp. Feels good in the hand. Excellent addition to any to any Honshu or knife/sword collection. The leather sheath that came with this knife was a bit tight. It took a bit of work to get the knife in and out. What the heck, I'm retired so I can spend the day messing with such things.

Perfect addition to my toothpick collection
Nearly a perfect balance. I grabbed my stones ready to put the sort of edge I want on a blade, only to find there was no need as it was already up to my standards (which are fairly high). Gorgeous knife, comfortable to hold. Good solid feel and weight. If you love the toothpick style and don't have this; get it!!

SHARP AND BEAUTIFUL
This thing is huge. It is beautiful. It is SHARP. I have no complaints about this knife, other than one minor thing about the sheath. The sheath is nice, don't get me wrong, but for some reason, putting the knife in the sheath is a bit of a chore. It's a tight fit and I always feel like I'm going to accidentally cut the leather bits that snap together. I have lots of knives that don't give me that impression, but it is a VERY MINOR thing. I bet it'll loosen up over time and get natural. I highly recommend this knife. It's a good price for the quality, the ergonomics of the handle are great, the blade is awesome. I love it! I looked at the Spartan sword and eventually decided that the blade looked too fancy and I just wanted a simpler blade that was more straight. I made the right choice. The two are made of the same steel, so I feel that it's just a style choice more than anything. Get it, yall. It's so cool.

Would definitely recommend this Knife!
The media could not be loaded. Right out the box you can tell this is not cheaply made. The quality is very good and would recommend this brand in the future. This is the 3rd Honshu knife I own and definitely love the brand.

Good
Bought as a last resort while working in polar bear country. When knife arrived couldn't do up sheath strap but soaking it in hot water made the leather stretch and now the snap closes. No polar bears here now so use it for opening cans.

dull, chipped blade
I bought this knife for practical usage in outdoors application. It looked like exactly what I wanted. Then I got it. Despite the claims of being very sharp and strong the blade was so dull I could press my thumb into it with no problem and the blade came with little chips on it. When I tried to return it I had to spend a couple days/messages discussing why they should pay for shipping. They had all sorts of excuses as to why they didn't feel like they should have to pay shipping. They did finally agree to send me a paid shipping label....but it took to much work/effort to get there....especially considering the quality of the product they sent me.
