I am 6' and weight roughly 178 lbs and typically wear a M in shorts and swimsuits. I bought the XL based on the seller info and other reviewers. The XL arrived and it was still a bit too small and felt like I had to constantly pull the back up to prevent plumbers crack. I ordered the XXL and that was a perfect fit, comfortable around the waist and properly covered my ass without leaving the suit baggy at all but rather a slightly snug fit. Now if you are shy or conservative and not comfortable with the shape and form of your balls and penis being visible than don't buy this because that's what a speedo style suit does. This suit in white takes it to the next degree unless you use that ridiculous saucer/pad they offer and please don't use it regardless, you're not fooling anyone but yourself. The fabric is slightly transparent and the padding which is slightly yellowish in color shows through the fabric. Now get this thing wet and not just the form of your boys will be clear but even the veins will show like a Rand McNally road map, not suitable for public pools or beaches. Now for a more adult environment or foreign travel where they are not so uptight about such things have at it, its a really beautiful suit and nice quality, especially for the price. I searched the internet and found this suit is also offered in Black which I ordered. I am waiting for it to arrive so cannot speak to it's level of modesty but I feel pretty confident that it will not have the same issues with transparency as the white.Update: The suit arrived in black and it is even more beautiful than the white. Now comparing the two the black is better for the following reasons. It hides some of the more crude stitching where the mesh panels are inserted. It helps to hide the shape and very distinct outline of your penis and balls like it does when wearing it in white. It is only very slightly transparent but you would literally have to make great effort to see that. I would feel comfortable wearing the black at a beach or public pool, not that you will EVER find me at a public pool, dirty people, screaming children, and diapered babies being dipped in the pool like a tea bag, eeewwww too gross. So buy, especially in black, with confidence if you want to feel sexy AF.
