HARLEM SHUFFLE

The book had a lot of not good words which made me DNF it, i don't know what the writer was trying to portray but bad words definitely is not a story and is not a plot.I could understand the part on the family dynamics, of the sofa/couch buisness but the language of the book was such a turn off in terms of reading. The Direction started going haywire, all in all a very disappointing read.

The only reason that I rated this book a 4 is because it ended before I wanted it to.Maybe it was my youth spent in a around the social environment of Detroit (Harlem is nowhere near Detroit except for social style in the same period) that made the story setting so familiar but I felt like I could have been there. Hard life, hard folks, hard times and sometimes the ones with the ability to see who they are can prosper. Fascinating rhythm.

innovative story--great read

But worthwhile reading.
