BEWARE!!!
Use caution when buying this piece. Despite the mix reviews I decided to order this for my 29 gallon freshwater tank I’ve been working on. I really liked how the castle looked with the small cave and the dementions were perfect for what I needed (about the size of a soda can). After reading some of the negetive reviews before ordering I decided when I received the castle I would soak it in water for a few days to see what would happen. Guys it’s been soaking in a clean cup for 4 days and already there is a chemical smell coming from the water. I don’t doubt the resin used to mold this is safe. However, this paint they are using on the castle is definitely dissolving into the water. Not only that I don’t think the paint is eco safe either, it smells....wrong. I think I’m going to continue soaking this for up to a week alternating between sanitizer and clean water. After that I might coat the castle with some acrylic gloss protective spray paint a few times to hopefully seal it off before placing it in my tank. Besides the failure with the paint I love how this thing looks. If you do buy be aware you will have to do something about the paint, you don’t want this junk in your tank with your pets.

This castle looks great in person and even better in your tank
This castle looks great in person and even better in your tank! It is not "gray", the rocky slopes are paints a kind of reddy-brown like dirt, and the rooftops are a slight blue. The colors are very realistic. I had to get this for my 3 gallon betta tank, which is in our Targaryen-themed living room. It looks so phenomenal. And based on other reviews I was prepared to open up the holes so my betta wild have more fin clearance. I used needle nosed pliers to carefully break off small pieces of resin, following the design of the piece so it would look intentional. After I chipped away at the openings, I used a small dremel (for filing the dog's nails) and slowly filed all the edges smooth. It's a perfect betta hiding spot now!

Small Means Small
If you're going to order the small size, please keep in mind that it is VERY small. They mean it. It is a good design and seems well built. If you have really small fish it will be perfect. My fish are about 1 inch in length and they look pretty big next to it, so keep that in mind. If I order another one, I'll definitely spend the extra $4 and get the medium size one.

Small but cute
This item fits in my hand and it’s adorable for a nano tank. The colors are very similar to the others I have purchased in the past so it blends right in.

Great for my 1.5 Gallon Tank
I got the small castle for my betta in his 1.5 gallon tank. I specifically wanted a castle with a cave big enough for him to swim through. The front of the cave is big enough, but the other end was too small for my little guy to fit through. I just took the pliers to it and chipped away at the hole until I was satisfied. Now it looks fabulous, and I'm confident George will be happily swimming through it in no time.
