I like making afternoon teas but always end up creating the same old combinations. This book has given me some wonderful alternatives such as glazed ginger shortbread / giant bourbon biscuits / goat cheese, courgette and chive mini muffins / smoked salmon, asparagus and cream cheese wraps / mini vanilla, ginger and buttermilk loaves and mini cornish pasties, to name a few that I wanted to try after my first flick through. All recipes are very easy to follow with some chefs tips/cheats added. There are some different recipes for larger cakes such as a three tier lemon and elderflower cake plus a section on traditional Welsh afternoon tea. The book is a good size with lovely photographs of all recipes together with a few photos of royal castles/estates and some words about each one. All in all, really pleased to add this to my cookery book collection. It will definitely be used and is ideal if you want some alternative ideas for afternoon tea to make it extra special. The only sandwiches to be found are banana ones for the children. This book could have been extended slightly by including a small chapter on different tea's available however, it is still a book worth investing in if you are looking for different afternoon tea ideas.

Such a pretty keepsake for the Platinum Jubilee, contains great, easy to follow recipes to recreate.
