Sturdy
Over the years Carex's commode quality has declined considerably. The 1st one had a thick solid seat (seat & lid); the 2nd one was a lower quality, thinner seat & back; this one actually bends if I lean back!I ordered a different brand because I wanted an oval seat which is far more comfortable, unfortunately it doesn't fit on this frame which is far more solid when weight is put on it. Spend a bit more for a more stable lid and PLEASE make an oval seat Carex!

We actually wanted something that was wider between the arms. When we ordered, the description seemed like it was stating 22" between the arms but it's only 19. The seat is rather small and it's hard to figure why they put such a small seat on a commode that carries a weight of 250-300 lbs. We kept it because we needed something right away. Be super careful when ordering. Should have asked the manufacturer questions before purchasing.
