Decent low cost alternative
The price is great (BMW originals are many times more expensive) and they do the job OK. I would recommend including instructions to make the install easier, and note that they are 2 different sizes so users need to beware. Installation of the connector to the ball joint was particularly stiff as the new spring was slightly small socket to the original so took a good deal of brute force to get it to clip on.

This product is dangerous !!
Have installed this product exactly one week ago today (27th of May). The boat has been opened approximately four or five times since installation, and dear it disintegrated on the boot came down heavily just missing my wife’s head. The five series BMW as an incredibly heavy boot lid. This could kill someone. I will be buying a BMW OM unit to replace this Chinese crap. Update This strut was very difficult to fit and needed to be wrested in to place. I just purchased 2 Stabilus struts from a national car par suplyer. Twice the price but worth it. fFtment was effortless and they connected with a solid and satisfying clunk. boot now opens and closes very smoothly better than the original BMW ones

Great value and works as it should
The right hand side one of these failed on my 2015 BMW 5 Series causing the boot lid to fly open when operated. Decided to replace as a pair. Works perfectly now with a controlled opening.

These don’t fit. F10 saloon
Right hand unit fitted no problem left hand was too short. Hand to get one from bmw as I damaged the left hand one.disappointed
