Great quality

i bought this because my current ice pick did not fit a sheath i purchased and wanted to keep this in a sheath on my hip on bigger trips. this fits nearly perfectly in the "style-n-craft" two pliers and tuna spike sheath ordered here on amazon. it does stick ever so little bit out of the tip/bottom, but a fast grind with any file and resharpening makes this not a problem. its girth is perfect to stay rather secure in the sheath. all metal and one piece so no worry of the handle coming off and the spike going thru your hand. big plus..i use this spike for fresh and saltwater ikejime. the humane and fast dispatching of fish. it does seem kinda thick but im not typically taking home small small fish. this is perfect for trout over 2lb and anything in the ocean. so far only used on a mackinaw but it was easy and worked as intended.i used an ice pick from svord otherwise. that spike is very thin and short and does not fit the sheath. if you are looking at this for ikejime, it will work for you.

One word - Quality.

The craftsmanship on this is more than I expected, and it is definitely sharper than I expected. I usually have to sharpen spikes when I get them. Not these. I really do wish Yoshihiro would make some more high-carbon versions though.

Love this spike, very good quality and the only thing and it is probably just for me, I wish it could be little thinner because the fish I caught not very big ones. It might be little over kill for what I am using, But I am sure it is great for most of people.

Who ever manufactured and designed this should fabricate and engineer all metal stuff. It’s like precision perfection personified.
