These are perfect for our needs
These are perfect for our needs. Most of the negative reviews I've read about these are that they are not big enough. I don't feel that it's fare to give a poor review based on people's personal size requirements and in not carefully reviewing the size they need prior to purchase. I live in a small mountain town without home recycle pickup and our only recycling center recently changed their policy to not allow sorting at their facility. We now need to have everything sorted when we bring it in to recycle, so we have six 32 gallon bins along our side yard that we dump these 6 gallon bins into. When the 32 gallon bins get full we take them to our recycling center. It saves us a lot of time from having to go back and forth to our recycling center with only 6 gallons of recyclables per type. Once two or three of our 32 gallon bins get full we take them in so that we can easily fit them in the back of our small SUV.I also like the company that makes these. I had a delightful response from their customer service when I accidentally did not order enough and needed to purchase more. They let me cancel my order and increase my bundle in order to save money from purchasing a couple more individually. They are also planning to make stickers to go on their bins for everyone's recycling types needed. We don't need stickers since we have a label maker. The standard labels from our label maker fit perfectly on the top lip of the bins so that they can easily be seen from above even when the bins are stacked. For our needs these bins are the perfect size. They don't get too heavy even when filled to the top with glass. Anything bigger and it would be trouble for my partner to carry them due to back problems. I also really like the way they stack in and out of use. We have four of them stacked along one cabinet in our kitchen, and two more stacked along another, narrower cabinet, allowing them all to fit perfectly in the space we have available for them.I would purchase these again and recommend them to anyone that needs to sort their recyclables. I could also find these useful for hobby and craft purposes.

just bought 6 more
These bins are great - sturdy, stackable, easy to clean. We ordered 10 a few years ago and we find lots of use for them, such that we just ordered six more. Here is how we use them at our cottage: the 3 major categories (paper, plastic, alcohol empties) plus a 4th miscellaneous one. We have room to stack two bins in each category. When a bin is full, we put it in the trunk of the car ready to go to the transfer station (dump) leaving one in place. This system works when we are two people or 10 people in the house. We bought the extras for when we have large parties. Awesome product that we find is very adaptable.

Sturdy, but a wee smaller than expected.
Excellent little Recycle bins. These things are sturdy as all get out. I have all six stacked on on top of the other in a single tower and they never fall over. I have 4 large dogs running through the house too, so that says a lot. I simply put the heavy stuff (like glass) on the bottom. I love it because six was the magic number for me. We have lousy recycling in this city. They do not do door-to-door recycling. We have to go to the center and drop them off. They also are Diva's when it comes to dropping them off too. You have to manually separate all your plastics as well as types of cardboard (paperboard like cereal boxes vs corrugated cardboard). Unlike Los Angeles and the surrounding counties, you don't get to just dump them into one can at the convenience of your own home. Oh no. They make it difficult and the closest one to me is 11 miles away.We used a gold paint pen and to write on each bin what should go in where. I expected my adult children (who had to move back home, yay) to complain but I was very pleased to find them actively participating. They look nice and recycling doesn't smell so long as you rinse the stuff out, as you should. Since they're small you really can't see into the containers. The only real complaint I have, and it's not a serious one since I knew in advance it was small, is that they are just a bit smaller than I expected. A lot of reviews were clear on the fact that they're small. I guess I just didn't realize how much we would generate. Be careful about your family size and the amount of garbage you generate. You may find that these are too small as we have. We have to take things, like water bottles, and add them into a regular box by the week's end.All in all though, I'm very pleased. These would work they way they should were it just myself, my mother (who has dementia and I care for her) and my husband but adding the adult kids just puts it a bit over their limit.

Smaller than originally thought, but still pretty sturdy and useful!
I gave this product a four star, only because they were wee bit smaller than expected and at the time of purchase (about three years ago now) there were not photos depicting the scale and exact dementions. I however, also blame that on myself as well, because at the very bottom of the product page was the dimensions and I didn't sit down with a ruler and figure them out....I seen "6 gallon" and was like yay, like a normal container.....lol. As of being sturdy, they are great, I agree that there were no specifications as to how high to stack them, but I like even.....so I stacked them two bins high by three wide. Upon receiving them my then one year old climbed into the top one, they did not buckle, didn't topple over (which I was terrorfied that would happen, so I sat near her) and they were great. I ended up not using them for recycling due to the size being smaller than expected (my idea was to have them full and left by garbage can for recycling) so I use them in my pantry. One I do use kinda for recycling for newspapers for annual use in the garden. The rest hold potatoes, onions, etc. they work great for organization. Also if you are craftsy like myself I just spray painted them to cover the logo and create "labels" on them to make them work well in the pantry and also organize them. Great product. The reason I gave a 4 star was the lack of description in detail when I purchased it, years ago. On the delievery we received them literally just a day or two after ordering which was exciting. (Normal delievery of items by two to three days cost extra, not for this company!)

Amazon needs to pack this with more cushioning
My bins arrived an hour ago. The handle of the top bin in the box is split for a short section on one side and a small chunk broken off the other side. Since the handle is necessary to stack them I will need to keep this bin on top. The handle still functions and it is only one so I won’t return the whole order. Since the broken piece is in the plastic bag around them I think the damage happened during shipping. Yes, they appear sturdy but apparently with enough force breakage can occur. Other than that they are exactly what I thought they would be.
