I advise using the “outdoor” version as you will find it has more benefits to your need

You'd need to measure the square footage of the couch and then probably multiply or divide the number of ounces of a can to see how many cans you'd need.

Q: Can you use it on regular cotton fabric?

You might be able to. I used it to spray paint on a tulle fabric skirt to change the color and it worked fine.
