I was a little skeptical buying this given the price tag; I have to say it's nice! I leave everything hooked up and when I get to my office I just slide in my MacBook and get to work. I don't have random wires hanging out on my desk and it does take up less room than having my laptop laying down.

This is precisely as it is described. I've had it now for two weeks, and my colleagues are a bit envious. Being able to dock on and off quickly is a great advantage. The other perk is the space saved on my desk.

This docking station only has two ports, same as my Mac. The only additional functionality it provides is the ability to store Mac vertically (on its side). For the $200+ I spent I could have purchased a lot of bricks that would do the same thing. ++Update - although some people think it is good my experience is not. I have a multiple port docking station to address multiple peripherals. The unit/Mac don't provide enough power. In addition I need to plug my Cinema Display directly into the computer because the Ascrono won't drive the display in my configuration. Everything works fine when plugged into my Mac directly. The company wouldn't provide me with a refund because it was longer than a month (return policy) before I got fed up. I'll gladly send this to you free if you can figure out a confidential way I can do that.

This dock is considerably overpriced–but if you wait for a good sale like I did, it does add some convenience to your desktop. If you look at it from a development and build cost perspective, there’s not much there to justify such a high price. R&D and materials would be minimal, just get the measurements right and implement a simple design. There is no power supply, circuitry or coding to impact the build cost, it’s literally just a passthrough device for USB-C and MagSafe charging. It’s a good device, just don’t pay full price. I’m a poet, and I didn’t know I was one.

If I could have given less than one star (ie: no star) I would have...save your money and buy a good adapter.

Top, parfait fonctionnement

My monitor has usb c which allows laptops to connect for charging, large screen docking or two screen set up and monitor port use. This allows quick docking for my laptop by plugging the usb c into this. It’s quick, solid and allows the laptop to connect and release without fiddling around with the cables.

Works like a charm. Didn't really need to read the instructions. It's nice and heavy so the likelihood of my laptop tipping over is minimal. I tuck it behind my screen and don't even realize it's there half the time.

Nach vielen Jahren musste ein neues MacBook Air M2 angeschafft werden und damit war die alte Dockingstation nicht mehr zu nutzen. Auf der Suche nach einem Nachfolger bin ich dann auf Ascrono gestoßen und habe trotz des hohen Preises gekauft. Die Funktionsweise ist bestens, das MacBook kommt gut rein und aus der Station und die Anschlüsse übertragen alle Signale ohne Probleme. Seit einer Woche ist nun das MacBook über diese Dockingstation mit einem Studio Display im Einsatz. Da dieses nun auch über den Thunderboltanschluss Strom für das MacBook liefert, ist der MagSafe überflüssig. Ansonsten ein tolles und hochwertiges Produkt. Empfehlenswert, nur etwas teuer!
