Vintage Decks with a Modern Touch. Nostalgia is its Purpose.
This deck brings back a ton of memories. Not only do they sport cards from the Evolution set, which are revivals of the first "base" cards of the entire TCG, the artwork and layout look the same as they were in the 90's, as well. The decks are rather simple, as with all theme decks. Nothing special will stand out with them in particular. This deck will particularly feel special to those who used to play or started playing in the card game's beginnings in the 90's. Compared to modern "EX", "MEGA" and "BREAK" cards, these cards will be very weak and underpowered. Some will even say they "suck".Like with all theme decks, they are a great jump in and play with friends who aren't serious players or collectors but are interested in jumping in to play a round or two. It could also be for those who want o expand these decks with EX cards from the Evolutions packs or any other more powerful cards in their arsenal.I keep these decks color coded with sleeves along with the other recent theme decks to have ready when some tabletop gaming action is calling during our hangouts.Perfect 5 for basic usability, hassle-free setup, ready to play and nostalgia. Although, they should have remade some modern trainer cards in the vintage layouts, too!

Good start.
This is a great couple of decks to start with. Both are balanced with each other and both are fun to play. They don't come with the absolute best cards but they will get anyone interested in the game started. My only complaint is the damage tokens are pretty flimsy and thin, not the best of quality but I plan on 3d printing some nicer ones

Great Nostalgia, Fun for Casual Play
I bought this with a friend to see if the Pokemon game held up. Boy howdy does it, the older cards aren't as strong as the new decks, but these two decks are really well balanced against each other. We had a blast playing these, so much so we went out and bought decks from the latest set to see how the game played differently. We love the classic art on most of the cards and it brought back some really fond memories. That being said, you won't be able to take these to a tournament and expect to do good, the newer cards are a lot more powerful, and the game speed has increased a lot since the original printing. That being said, if you want to buy a couple of decks to just play casually when your friends come over, I can't think of a better way to get that with the PTCG.TLDR These are great for some nostalgic casual play, not completive at all, but that's fine. It's a great way to try the game and see if you'd like it.

Just okay
This a decent way to start a collection, however out of the 120 cards, only 27 were unique monster cards. The rest were duplicates or trainer and energy cards. Not to say that those are not important to actually playing, but the amount of duplicates was a little underwhelming.

Great starting point for new players.
My son had a sudden interest in Pokemon due to the detective Pikachu movie and I had never played Pokemon. Grew up on MTG so not new to the tcg scene. What did impress me is, these decks come with digital codes that you can enter into the online Pokemon trading card game for your PC and use them online as well. Turns out that's true for all legitimate Pokemon decks and booster packs(he plays online as well and used the codes to add the cards to his library to build other decks). Now as for the decks they come with everything you need to get out and play. They're not going to win any tournaments but will help you get an understanding of the mechanics and rules of the game plus they come with play mats, a plastic coin, and counters/tokens.

Wonderful Starter Deck
A nice deck to introduce people like me back to the game after a decades-long hiatus or for kids just starting. My little brother recently got into the Pokemon TCG and I knew my old 90's cards wouldn't cut it these days. These cards are like the ones back then but updated for the modern rule set. Real good for building off of or novelty purposes.

Awesome deal and great nostalgia
If you were growing up in the '90s when Pokemon made it's way to America and were collecting them, you will love these decks for the nostalgia! They're pre-built decks and most of the cards (or possibly all of the cards) are reissues of the 1st generation Kanto region Pokemon. The Pikachu deck is a little weak against others but still worth it to have the cards in my opinion. These packs have not been tampered with and they are not fakes! A big shout out to the seller, ViceCityVentures, Thank you for the great product! :)

Box came damaged, decks are good but unbalanced
Aside from the decks being pretty unbalanced to each other, I would say that the decks are good. I wish you got a pikachu and a mewtwo coin from these, but you get a chancy coin from both. The biggest reason I have it as 3 stars is because my boxes came completely ripped open and damaged. It looked like someone returned it after tearing up the box. This is an issue I’ve had so many times with Amazon, but fortunately the cards weren’t damaged and all of the cards were there.
