Q: The description says black, white.... only wanting it in black. how can i be sure of what color i am getting? also, wanting to be sure it says 1000 ?

No idea how you could 100% insure that you will be getting 1000 feet of black wire. I bought this about a year ago and received the exact description (including pictured labels and such)

Q: how many ohms per foot?

For 30-AWG wire about 0.1032-ohms per foot. See: http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm. I also checked my textbook "Electronics Fundamentals" by Floyd & Buchla, which give the same numbers for wire gauges as the web site link.I hooked up an ohmmeter to the reel I got and it showed 'infinity' for the black reel -- I'm assuming there is a break in the wire somewhere. With the green wire reel I got a reading of 72.3-ohms which works out to 700.5 feet. That seems a lot shorter than 1,000 feet, but I'm not going to start making accusations, nor am I going to unroll the whole thing to check how long the wire actually is. ;-)I've been soldering with this wire for sometime now without problems so I'm content with what I got.Though, I'm curious to know what ohmic value you get from your reel of wire?

Q: Are there markings on the insulation, or is the wire solid black?

This wire is so thin that even if it was marked you would not be able to read it. I have the 30 GA wire and it's only .026" in diameter. Hope this helps.

Q: Is this wire flexible? I need to make a cable for earphones (earbuds).

It's flexible like standard thin-gauge wire, but it wouldn't work so well for earphone cables.
