North American Rescue Hyfin Vent Chest Seal 4 Count

All of the chest seals showed up in great condition with no signs of damage. This is beneficial because you can't open them to inspect and when you need a chest seal... well, it's gotta perform!

Although I prefer the Halo chest seals due to my experience with them, these seals do have some advantages.They are packed individually so if there is not an exit wound, you save a seal.They come with a wipe to clean the blood around the wound.They stick pretty well on the body and there are also have a vent.I used these a few times and never had an issue with them. The package is small, so it's easy to put in a pouch or bag. They work on wounds with heavy bleeding, and the wipe is a big help.I recommend these seals.I did have one issue with them. Not the seals in general but the wipe itself. The wipe comes moist and if your exposed to high heat or cold, the wipe will dry up. The wipe is still good to wipe up blood, though, so it's not a big issue.

This is one of those products/items that you have on hand in your IFAK / Home first aid kit or Trauma kit, but hope you never have to use. I haven’t personally tested it ( Thankfully ) but , it’s a quality well made and packaged, and very well recommended chest seal kit ! If you don’t have one in your emergency kit, just buy it, for me it’s always been better to have what you need when the time comes , than to wish had it and be sorry.

To clear up some confusion, there is ONE seal per grey packet. The twin pack includes two sets of two grey packets for a total of (wait for it) FOUR seals. NAR does not help matters by clearly printing "Chest seal twin pack" on EACH grey packet, along with "Entry/exit wound". A reasonable person could come to the conclusion that there are two seals in EACH packet. This is not the case.Also, as evidenced by the items for scale in my picture, these packets are NOT small. They will be difficult to use in an on-body kit as favored by most responders. I recommend the compact version of this product for on-body carry, particularly for belt and ankle packs.

I haven't been shot or had to treat anyone that's been shot yet. So i can't rate the product for use. But I'll give it a 5 star for quantity at a fair price. There is someone on Amazon selling a single vent for $15 (not 1 set which comes with 2 vents, which is how the product is sold from the manufacturer as you can see above) 2 sets for $30 is a very fair price considering the amount and value of what you are getting.It's a little larger than i expected but still fits nicely in my mid sized EDC med kit. I home i never have tho use it but if i ever do I'll be sure to leave an update

I luckily havnt had to use this set but they are one of the industry leaders for this product. If you can make holes, you need to know how to plug them.

I bought a four-pack of these to replace a pair of Halo chest seals in my blowout kit. I had thought the Halos were vented, but checking saw that they weren't (for the record, Halo does make a vented version, it's just not the version I bought). The Hyfin chest seals are vented, and were recommended by an ER doctor who also shoots with our CCW group. These seals will allow air and/or blood to vent from a chest wound without having to get creative rigging a vent under the edge of the chest seal...just apply it correctly and the vent is already there.
