Q: does it have to be in plug of it's own or can it go in power strip?

here's what the instruction manual for most of the Delonghi products say: "The use of extension leads is not recommended. However if they cannot be avoided, follow the instructions accompanying the extension lead and never exceed the power limit marked on the extension." Hope this helps!

Q: When you power it off and back on, are the settings restored? In other words, does it remember the settings including mode, temp, etc.?

If it is turned off it will return to previous temp setting. But if it is unplugged or power outage it turns to the pre set temp of 72 when turned back on. It will not restart on its own with interruption of power.

Q: seller: does thermostat work in lower modes only (900w or less) to avoid 1500w tripping breaker on cold nights?

I have mine set to Eco mode so it only comes on if less than a certain temp (you set it).....Have never had a problem with it tripping the breaker on cold nights or any other time...is turned on all winter in my house - 24/7 - but doesn't run all the time.
