The Secret Life of Squirrels Board book – Picture Book, October 4, 2016

We got the valentines squirrel book as a gift and it became one of my son’s favorite books so I had to order this one for him and it’s maybe even better?! Absolutely adorable and a very sturdy board book makes it great for the car, on the go, or at home. You won’t regret it this story is just too cute. We especially love the page where he’s grilling on a tiny grill.

Supercute. The story as well as pictures are cute. My little one loves to read it together 2-3 times in a row. And its been months now.Its fun to read as a parent.

Not only does my 2 year old love this book, but *I* love this book! It is so adorable and well-done. The pictures are great and the story is clever. My son cracks up at the name “Mr. Peanuts.”

My son was afraid of squirrels, because there was one in our attic making all manner of noise and keeping him up. We discussed that this was not a creature who would hurt him, but squirrels are loud... bedtime had become pretty rough. We bought this book (and a small stuffed squirrel) for him to see if we could get over this worry. He loves the book, and we have read it many times since. The stuffed squirrel has been named "Mr. Peanuts", after the book character, and is his favorite thing. He has even decided that Mr. Peanuts has chased away the squirrel in the attic and will protect him from future squirrels. This book humanizes squirrels enough to make them relatable to a three year old, but the realistic photos keep the idea firmly rooted around actual squirrels. Thank you Nancy Rose!

If you have a young child they will absolutely love this book. I have read this to my daughter for the last year over and over and over and each time she delights in pointing out the little things that the squirrels are doing. This author has a very unique approach to how she writes books. The storylines are very stupid however the photography is nothing short of mind-boggling. She sets of these miniature scenes and basically waits for wild squirrels to come over and do what appears one would do in that scene. For instance the cover of the book appears that the squirrel is mailing a letter. Very cute book from a very talented author. Definitely get it if you're tired of reading Dr. Seuss over and over and over

I am smitten with this book! I purchased it for my 6 year old because he is getting ready to have surgery and I wanted to lift his spirits. We laughed at every page. The fact real squirrels were used to make this is AWESOME. The pictures are spectacular. The book is beyond hilarious. We especially laughed at the squirrel owning and using a washing machine. I'm 33 and thoroughly enjoyed this book, and my 6 year old son laughed just as hard. The book is pretty long too, which is great:) I hope Nancy Rose continues to make more squirrel books :)

My niece lives in PA and doesn't have squirrels and when she comes to visit me on Long Island she is so intrigued by them. I bought her this and she loved it! Really cute book. Not really a "bedtime story" book. It's more of a coffee table book for children. The fact that the author uses live squirrels in these situations and the time spent getting the right shot is amazing!

What a great book for toddlers and young children. A favorite on the bookshelf. These photographs spark instant joy. Our toddler has favorite books and he reaches for this one often. Now, on our trail walks he points to squirrels and can even said the word squirrel for the first time at 19-months old. Such a delight for young ones!

Lovely little story and anyone who loves squirrels will love this

I am an early childhood educator and look for GOOD picture books. Love, love, love this picture book. Live in a concrete jungle, BIG city, downtown and recently have been seeing squirrels. Love the amusing pictures which preschool children will identify with. Visit the park and feed the squirrels in the BIG city then go home and read this book. Highly creative and well done, lots of effort and GOOD work to design and build the scenarios, much appreciated. BIG thank you to Nancy Rose. Excellent photographer ! This is a delightful books for toddlers. The pictures are great; the story simple and sweet. I love it.
