Neat movie

Very enjoyable CD of the music from Shin Godzilla. It includes some music from the original 1954 movie as well as numerous variations of the cues used in the newer movie. It's a Japanese CD, not meant for foreign sales so all the text on the cover is in Japanese so I don't know what many of the pieces were called.

So first off, Shin Godzilla is an incredible movie. I've been a fan of the big guy since I first saw Godzilla 1985 when I was a kid. So clock up over 30 years of fandom. Now Godzilla is 60 years old, back, and bigger than ever. What I love about this soundtrack is not only does it use some of the original music from the 1954 original, it also includes some really well arranged new orchestral pieces that truly evoke the terror of a Godzilla attack. Also a very liberal dose of the Decisive Battle theme from Neon Genesis Evangelion doesn't hurt as that is also a favorite of mine. There are bonus tracks and extended cuts that are not available on the digital download of this soundtrack so if you want to be a completionist you have to go analog.Obviously since this is an import unless you can read Japanese the CD booklet is all but useless but the vocals on the soundtrack are oddly enough in English so I guess give and take? Anyway, of all the Godzilla sountracks I own this is by far and away my favorite.

This soundtrack of the new movie blew me away. Upon opening it, we get a beautifully wrapped CD case and with a little border on the left hand side with some writing on it, but once you take the wrapping off it and get into the CD, you won't regret buying it. It is full of music that's beautifully done by Shiro Sagisu. As well as some tracks we all remember in the Godzilla franchise. It's got 32 tracks in all, and each one will please you. The stereo and surround quality of each track is excellently done, and the sound is amazing even on the older ones that where remastered for today standard. They are there as a nod and tribute to Akira himself, he would be pleased with the choices used for this movie. Overall, when this movie comes out on DVD, this CD is the perfect addition to the collection of Godzilla Resugence merchandise you will ever get.

As a big fan of the movie as well as Godzilla in general, I love being able to listen to Shin Godzilla's amazing music score!!! If you're someone who loved the movie, I highly recommend picking up the soundtrack. Not only will it be worth the price but it will also hold us over until we get the DVD/ Blu Ray release of the movie here in the U.S.

The fresh, classically-themed numbers created a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, unique in the genre. However, the inclusion of Akira Ifukube's traditional scores was nothing less than absolute genius; at once elevating "Shin Gojira" to perhaps the greatest Godzilla movie of all.

Listening to this CD will make you want to watch the movie again! Excellent!

とにかくリズムが心地よくシネマのシーンが音楽を聴く事で甦ります。

Man merkt, dass die Wurzeln von Shiro Sagisu wo anders liegen, doch mit ein paar Stücken weiß er zu überzeugen, selbst wenn die Musik für diese Art von Film ungewöhnlich und neu klingt. Alleine wegen dem gefühlvollen, epischen Opener, der unter anderem auch für den Filmtrailer verwendet wurde, lohnt sich die CD. (Inzwischen wohl nicht mehr, da der Preis in die Höhe geschossen ist)

まずは足音!!何はともあれ足音!!こうでなければ始まりませんね。やはり。その後、破滅への不安と憧れを掻き立てるメインテーマ。鷺巣詩郎っ。あんたホント天才や～！非常に良い買い物をしてしまいましたわー。車を運転しながら聴いていると、「目標が報告と違う！繰り返す！目標が報告と違う！！」とかなんとかセリフが飛び出してしまいます。「アパッチ30mmに切り換えろ！」「16000発の弾丸を顔面に食らってキズ一つ付かんだと！？」「各国首脳からお悔やみの言葉が届いており～」「personal service!」「この機を逃すな！在来線型爆弾全車投入！！」ああもう語り出したらきりがないですなぁ。ともかく、シンゴジラの興奮がよみがえり、全身の細胞を残らずハイテンションにしてしまいますなぁ。※スタッフロールで流れていた伊福部サウンドも入ってますよ！
