so-so
I bought this product in hopes of relieving my boston's localized mange. While he has improved slightly and the spread of his mange has halted, he has not gotten rid of the issue.

Just try it . Your pet deserves the effort
After dealing with generalized Mange for at least 2 years I found this product. Combined with oral medications in just 2 weeks I’ve seen a great improvement on my dogs skin.

GREAT products for dog pyoderma/pododermatitis issues!
***I am NOT in any way related to this product company; I am simply a very happy customer. I ordered the "mange/demodex kit directly from the product web site."****edit note March 26, 2013***:I use these products on my little D-O-G (read review below). There are some products within this line that are NOT for use in CATS (ie, do NOT use the Pet Wash, and do NOT use the "Healing Gel" (cats *I think* can use the "healing spray" and "mite spray" -- call company to make sure). If you have a cat/kitten, please make sure you contact the company to ask which products are appropriate for use in felines. You can reach them from their website at: [...] Their tel # is: 866-314-8917._______________________________Original Review:Reading the 3 star "meh" type review by the poster below is frustrating! PLEASE people, realize that IF your dog has a skin issue, most of the time (maybe not all) there is an UNDERLYING health condition creating the skin problem! If so (ie, due to food allergies, atopic allergies, yeast/fungal issues, hypothyroidism, cushings, etc etc etc), the UNDERLYING issue must be treated, OR the condition will come back -- regardless of what topical treatments you use! Therefore, if a dog has "demodex", and you use this line of products, YES...the problem will be relieved. BUT unless you treat the underlying reason for the demodex (ie, poor immune system, STRESS, allergies, YEAST issues, etc etc etc), the demodex WILL COME BACK! That is not to say that these products do not work! It is to say that as a responsible dog owner, you owe it to your pet to get the health issue treated INSIDE as well as outside! As for my experience with the product line: I am a 100% believer in them! They have done an amazing job for my little Shih Tzu, who was suffering from various skin and paw issues due to (what the vet "thinks") may be "allergies". She tested positive on a paw scrape for both yeast (fungus) and bacteria. BOTH are secondary to allergies. We ruled out food allergies. She is fed a 100% organic homecooked diet and has done well for the past 8 years on it. She gets the best supplements. Yet, about 2 years ago, she began licking her paws until they were RAW. We had to use booties on her when she went out. And we use socks at night. She also began smushing her face on bedding, the carpet, you name it! We did the elimination diet just to rule out food allergies. We were right -- she doesn't have any food allergies. We ruled out hypothyroidism (though she is borderline low/normal -- however her vets refuse to put her on a trial of soloxine -- we are in the midst of finding new vets, if need be!). We have taken all necessary blood tests (chem, superchem, etc), urinalysis, etc. By every "test", she is in PERFECT health -- yet the paw issues, goopy eye issues, sniffling issues, etc remain. We've tried countless shampoos, ointments, sprays....EVERYTHING! They all work for about 2 weeks, then POOF!...the magic ends. Mind you, this is a Shih Tzu who is completely pampered -- we only use the most non-toxic shampoos, etc. We vacuum daily, so that we don't have to worry about dust allergies for her. We even have air filters running in the house. Save putting her in a BUBBLE, there is no other way to avoid her having contact with the molds outside (we live on the water), or to keep her from the oak tree pollen/tanin, etc. She has to be able to "live" and go outside for walks. Our vet's option was for steroids. My reply was "NO WAY!". So, until we can find a vet who has better (and less harmful) advice on how to treat the allergies, we try to treat holistically by supporting her immune system, etc.PetsBestRx has been the ONLY product to work consistently for the past 6 weeks! With the very first shampoo, her itching stopped, the REDNESS stopped, and the licking stopped! That, in and of itself, is worth every penny we spent on the 2 oz kit size of product, imho. The Gel is fabulous at healing the chaffed skin areas (she also had a large patch on her throat that got pyoderma on it. The healing spray is ideal for inbetween application times. The Sulfinex Cream is AMAZING! I noticed her skin healing within 2 weeks (began to get dry and flake off). Her skin returned to a normal white-pink, vs BRIGHT RED. The hair took longer to grow back -- it was about 3 weeks in when I noticed peach-fuzz growing in. At 6 weeks now, her hair is beginning to fill in the bald area. We still have a ways to go, BUT this is the best she has done in the past 2 years. My ONLY regret is that I didn't buy the larger sizes of each product. The larger sizes are a much better deal than the skimpy 2oz sizes. The products are VERY pricey -- yes. But, they are MUCH cheaper than my vet bills! And since I can't get any real type of "diagnosis" for my dog's issues, the PetBestRx products have been a God-send for me. I have just put an order in for the larger sizes of the following:- 16 oz shampoo- 8 oz Sulfinex Cream- 8 oz Healing Gel- 8 oz Protection SprayThe ONLY item I did not re-order is the MITE spray, as my pup seemed to feel irritated by it (hence, I have plenty of that product left). By irritated, I mean that she seemed to want to lick her paw right after I sprayed the product on. I'm guessing she did not like it. But there were no adverse reactions from it. I stopped using that one product, as the other 4 seemed to be doing great for her without it added in. I will UPDATE her progress in another 6 weeks.OTHER:Aside from these topical products, I have also given her a few new supplements (in addition to the ones she always gets, such as probiotics, digestive enzymes, omega 3, borage oil, etc etc etc). The 3 new supplements I have used (and purchased from amazon) are:1- Acetylator (this helps heal the intestinal lining, etc -- and I give this just in the off chance she does have a food allergy, despite the elimination diet showing nothing). This product is still good for overall digestive tract health. I have noticed great improvement in her stools, burpiness after eating, etc. I love this product! We have given for 90 days so far.2- Quercinase (this helps with ATOPIC allergies, which is what we suspect my dog has). We are only at week 3, so too soon to tell if it is helping, but she does seem less "sniffly", so I am guessing it isn't hurting. :)3- Seacure -- this stinks to high heaven of ROTTED FISH, but it seems to be doing great things for her. Her coat color has intensified. This product is supposed to also help with digestive health/intestinal health. I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. So far, I love this product (even if the smell does make me gagggggggggg! lol)***Ok, so there is my "review" of the products from PetBestRx. I have only great things to say about the products. AND the customer service gal has been very helpful, as well. I've called NUMEROUS times to ask for help on how best to work with the products. She has been very supportive every step of the way. I was using another great product (Nu-Stock) -- which is a yellow-sulfur based cream that helps combat demodex, bacterial issues, etc, but the smell gave me huge migraines and I was afraid of what that smell might due to my little dog. Also, her skin DID get irritated in areas by nu-stock ...yet, I DO think Nu-stock is a GREAT product when it comes to being able to grow hair on a bald spot. It did it very quickly. After reading the info on the PetBestRx website about how white sulfur (aka, MSM) is safer, I decided to switch. I'm glad I did (though I do still keep nu-stock in the closet "just in case".).IF you have a dog who is suffering from one bacterial or fungal skin infection after another -- and you have tried many other products without any success, I would urge you to give this one a try! But, please DO use all of the products in the "kit". You cannot just use only the shampoo, or only the cream, or only the spray, and expect good results! Also, again, you MUST treat the underlying cause of the skin issues, or you will be in a catch 22 situation! And if you cannot get a diagnosis for your pet's skin issues, then at least try giving them some topical relief with these products.___CONS:The ONLY negative I have about this line of products, is the HIGH price. But again, the price is much lower than it is to go to my vet...again and again and AGAIN and AGAIN...without ever getting a diagnosis for the skin issue. So....the cost is relative, imho.____I hope owners with dogs suffering from licking/chewing, etc their paws, will give this line a try! I hope they will work as well for others, as it has for my Tzu.
