Universal Studios Silver Screen Edition Frankenstein Mask

The Frankenstein mask is made of quality material with a very authentic look that adds realism to any Halloween party. I plan on using this as part of my outfit for a Haunted Lodge that I assist with every year. I'm sure that the realistic design of this mask will help our Haunted Lodge become realistic to our audience. The mask is everything that is just like what is advertised. The only thing they didn't advertise was the color of the skin for the mask, which is a pale green.....kind of like a mint green, which is kind of what I expected and will look just fine for my outfit.

I usually wear cap or hat size 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 and this item fits me well, a little large, but I am very satisfied with the size. I have a large collection of fine quality monster masks, most are a little large for me, but I make them work for different projects and I always appreciate the fine quality, hard work, and professionalism that goes into the making of these fine quality masks especially this one. I love it. I plan to either wear this item personally or use it as part of a full size make-shift monster and as part of a local elementary school Halloween program (Haunted House). The material used to make the item is of fine quality and is very well made. Before I purchased this item, I did my research which included reading the pros and cons of this item. Some critics argued that the item did not look like the picture or illustration used to advertise this item. I agree with them, the item does not look like the illustration in question; the item that I purchased is far better. The item looks very much like, if not more authentic, than the actual 1931 Frankenstein monster. I positioned the item in my den and took several HD photos. My family and I were amazed at the authenticity of the item. Within the next day or two I plan to email these pictures to Amazon and I would be very surprised if one of the pictures does not replace the illustration used to advertise the item. By now, you should know that the item very much exceeded my expectations and I definitely recommend the item. One last piece of advise, if you are seriously considering buying this item, how do you plan to use the item? Do you plan to personally wear it? Yes, the eye slits or holes are rather small, I do not suggest that the eye holes be enlarged; this would take away from the overall effect. We all have different expectations and opinions, if for what ever reason you are not satisfied with the product, you can always return it and get a refund. Happy Halloween and pleasant dreams.

I had a lot of difficulty seeing out of this mask as i t was too big for my head. I ended up packing some foam material into the inside forehead area in a ring shape. That allowed it to sit at eye level so I could see better. The Pupil distance was off from my own pupil distance so I had to modify the eye holes a little more and make them a little bit larger. All of that aside, this was a nice looking mask and I received several compliments on it at last years halloween party.

I wanted to put a Frankenstein out in my yard for Halloween this year. Wasn't sure how this mask would look but I ordered it anyway. When it arrived I tried it on. For me it was too roomy; I wouldn't want to wear it but I knew it would do the job for my decorations. Sitting in a wood chair this mask on a dummy body looked awesome. Several people commented how great it looked & wondered if real person was sitting with the mask on their head. The mask is great!

I should have read the reviews - the item I received is not the item pictured. The item pictured is an exact likness of Karloff as the monster, with defining detail and shading that is not present on the item received. In fact, I don't think it's even the same sculpt. The item pictured looks like a carefully crafted and licensed product, and what I got looks like an OK generic knock off - very, very disappointed. The only saving grace was the sale price. If I had paid more than 30 dollars for it I would return without question. Considering keeping it as a kick around "I don't care" mask. Totally misleading photo - suprised Universal licensed this, and suprised amazon allows this to continue to be sold listed with the wrong product picture in place. Not the same sculpt, not the same paint job, and not the same color.

If you're seeking that Boris Karloff look alike, this is close, but no cigar. Although it is the officially Universal Studios licensed product, it bears only scant resemblance to Karloff in his most famous role. Perhaps Universal could not come to terms with Karloff's estate. Actually, the mask I bought at a Halloween store locally about 15 years ago, and for a lot less money, bears a better similarity to Boris. If what you are looking for is similarity to those old thirties horror movie icons, may I suggest the Bela Lugosi mask available on Amazon for about the same price, but which indeed bears staggering similarity to Bela, officially licensed by Lugosi's estate. Of course, that is if you prefer Dracula to the Frankenstein monster. I'm about equal on both. So, I ordered this for my collection.

I was worried reading the reviews from people who had received a different style, but I decided to give it a shot hoping for the best. It paid off! This mask looks amazing! There is a foam topper in the crown to hold the shape, and it makes it very comfortable, plus it has holes in the ears, nose, pupils and the mouth is slit a little, so plenty of air and sound can enter, and you can even drink using a straw!

Bought two masks both Frankenstein. This one was far better than the other. Better care was taken to not crease the mask by securing in a larger box.

Big fan of Boris Karloff's Frankenstein. This is the mask to be him.

Excellent quality mask. A little hard to breath if you wear it for over an hour without taking it off.

Pretty good mask! Others have complained about the quality & smell. I think the quality is good and, yes, it smells terrible, but it’s a rubber mask from China! I left it outside a few days & was fine. Doesn’t look exactly like the pic, but for the cost, is very good.I asked questions of the seller & their communication & response time was Excellent!!
