Black & Decker Li4000 Lithium Screwdriver With Screw Holder

We have an older version of this same screw driver and it was a reliable work horse. Ater 10+ yrs. it wasn't holding a charge like before so we wanted a replacement. This apparently was the new, improved version but they killed the practicality and usability of the original. The screw holder attachment at the tip is a worthless gimmic. Hey B&D, just provide magnetic bits and the problem will be solved. The screw holder thing actually hinders progress, especially in tight places. Gets in the way, doesn't hold screws securely or correctly. My other complaint is the location of the forward/reverse selector "switch". Why on Earth they decided the simple up/down switch on the original had to be moved right next to the trigger so that you have to constantly re-select the direction you want because either your forefinger or thumb accidentaly changes the direction by simple press of the trigger. I hate this screwdriver but will keep it knowing I only have to use it once in awhile.

This was a replacement for a nearly identical cordless screwdriver whose battery finally gave out. I had high hopes for it, but it was a waste of money. Fully charged, it can’t unscrew a screw that has been hand tightened without it being hand loosened first. By the same token it will not finish screwing a screw in, you have to hand tighten the screw. My old one did a better job than my large Ryobi. This one isn’t even as good as a hand screwdriver.

It's just what I expected. Black and Decker products are the best. The price was excellent.
