Stable and study doggie steps
I bought the 3-steps model and I'm happy with them. My nearly 8-year-old dog struggles to jump on my bed because it's quite high. These steps solved the problem. She learned quickly how to use them, they're stable so no wobble climbing up or down, the steps are wide with a non-slip carpet on top, making her feel sure-footed... no issues whatsoever. A nice feature is that the steps can be turned into a ramp for those dogs that refuse to climb steps. There's no assembly, you just take the unit out of the box and unfold everything. The wood frame has a dark finish and the steps are covered with a non-slip, neutral carpet color that looks nice in the room. Best of all, my dog uses it!

Very Sturdy
Great for my 9 year old golden. She’s 75lbs, the steps are very sturdy, putting them on a rug keeps it from moving. Also works for my younger dog, 65lbs. They come assembled in the box you just have to fold the steps out. My grandma has had this same set of stairs for many years now so they will definitely last.

I did a TON of research on steps and have purchased many variations of steps available. My outside research found an article that listed the 10 best dog steps available [...]. These steps were their number one pick. And these steps have one of the highest ratings via amazon as well. I am VERY pleased with this product. My biggest rave on these stairs is for the depth of each step. I've tried out dozens of other kinds of steps and have never found anything deep enough for my doxies' long bodies. They either have to go up at an angle or they don't use them at all. My pups fit on these perfectly. And it's nice to know I can always convert it to a ramp should the need arise.I liked that it came ready to use right out of the box and I didn't have to deal with the aggravation of putting it together. They are made of solid high quality wood with a nice dark cherry finish. Each step coverts to a ramp independent from the others meaning you could ultimately have the bottom step as a ramp and the other 2 set up in step form which is handy if the first step is too high off the ground for your pup.The only complaint I would have is it would be nice if they had various color choices for the carpet and maybe even different stain finishes. The carpet color is fairly neutral (light light pink) but as stated in some of the other reviews, doesn't always match all decoration schemes. Offering options may boost sales as the product is definitely the quality that would warrant expansion. One thing that also might be nice is a contrasting darker color along the edges of the steps. I only say this because my dog is going blind in his old age and sometimes he has a hard time seeing where one step stops and the next one stops.I do want to remind anyone looking for steps for their dogs that any steps - no matter how great they are - will require a bit of training on the part of the dog. Portable steps are different than regular stairs and any dog will need to get used to them and sometimes it may take a few days of coaxing to get them used to using them. You also have to abide by weight and size restrictions given to the steps and realize if you put things on a smooth floor, there is risk of slippage or movement. That being said, these are the best steps I have purchased. They are pricey but after spending just as much on other variations that either didn't work or were poorly made, the price is worth a quality usable product that will last for years and years to come. In addition, you don't get steps for the price but you have a ramp as well.

Perfect for my older dog
This was perfect for my older dog. He weights 55 lbs and it is both large and sturdy enough for him. I highly recommend this product.

I cannot recommend this highly enough!
UPDATE: After almost 5 years, this is still going strong. Now primarily used by an elderly dog, and still just as easy to use and just as sturdy. My dog was injured in an accident and broke his back paw. The vet expressed concern about him jumping into the car while he heals, but he's a big dog & I can't lift him. I tried the Pet Gear Easy Step III, but they were flimsy and the dog wouldn't use them at all because he found them too scary. I also tried the Pet Gear ramp (can't remember if it was bi-fold or tri-fold), but I couldn't find a way to get it to sit firmly against the car. I almost gave up, but I saw this and decided to give it a go, since I could return it if it didn't work out. I'm glad I did! This set of stairs is INCREDIBLY sturdy and well-designed. It's light-weight (about 10 lbs for the 3-step version), folds up easily, is small enough to fit in the trunk (when folded up), and is easily converted from a ramp to a set of stairs and back again. My dog prefers using it as a ramp. Since you are probably also using them for a dog, I will add this: he is happiest using them if the car door is on one side of the ramp, and a human is on the other. My vet says this is because a lot of dogs prefer ramps/stairs with sides, because it gives them a sense of security. If you're using it indoors and your dog is nervous, try putting the ramp/stairs against a wall and standing (or putting a piece of furniture) on the other side. We've been using it for about two months, and the dog is about to get his cast taken off, so we will likely be retiring them for a bit. However, I intend to keep them around for when he gets older and might need them again.P.S. We've used it as a set of stairs a few times. The first was in testing to see which the dog preferred. The second was as a laptop platform so we could watch a movie while waiting in line (long story). The last was as a backup chair for a light-weight person (~120 lbs). It performed beautifully every time, and it was easy to turn it back into a ramp afterwards.
