Tag-It Pet ID Holder, Black

These seem to be hard to find! We got one several years ago for our lab’s collar. Made it very handy to remove her tags before washing her collar, then putting them all back on. We did replace it with a pretty pink one. We have a smaller dog and have found it impossible to find on that will fit on her collar. I’ve been asked several times at the veterinarian office where we got this; kind of hoping they would find a way to stock them but no luck so far!

I like being able to take my dog's tags from one collar to another. So I can wash and dry the collar he was wearing and still have his tags on the collar he is wearing.

I have several of those tag holders (same brand) and this is the first time I’ve gotten one that was too short (and thick!) to wrap around a 1” collar. Three layers of strapping?? It’s well made but maybe wasn’t sewn correctly.

I change my dogs collars with every holiday and season, so easy to switch ID over, I also have a dog boarding business and each dog gets a tag with my info on it when they arrive, so simple and practical.....They are just the best!!!

If you like to change collars these are a game changer for dog tags. If you struggle, like I do, to get the tags on the collar this will make you very happy! Put the tags on ONCE and then use the quick release to hook right over another collar. Change collars daily if you want without any hassles!

My dog has a whole wardrobe of collars, so I'm always looking for something to make changing tags easier. This is a great idea, but it only fits very narrow collars. Yes, I DID read the specs, and noticed that it fits a 1" collar, but since my dog is a puppy, I thought I'd try it anyway. It is fairly easy to clip and unclip (the clip is tight at first but it does loosen up a bit with use). However, you have to be careful that it doesn't immediately slide off the collar when you unbuckle the collar and get misplaced. To that end, I'd recommend re-buckling the collar immediately before you hang it on the leash rack. Otherwise, the Tag-It will slip right off the collar and get lost behind the rag basket... It seems to be made of very good materials, and I believe it'll last a long time. Unfortunately, since my dog is young, he'll take a wider collar soon and I won't be able to use it very well.EDITED TO ADD: I've been using this for quite a while now, and I've found that I can clip it to the "D" ring on my dog's collar. It interferes a little with the lead clip, but not enough that I want something different to hold his tags. Also, clipping it to the "D" ring on wider collars means that it won't slip off the collar when you hang it on the leash rack. I wish I could up my rating to 3.5 stars, but I can't give a half star, so I'll just say it here: 3.5 stars.That said, I do recommend the Tag-It for people with small dogs or puppies that take the narrower collars. I wish they'd make a bigger one for bigger dogs, because I won't be able to use it for much longer, so I'm giving it 3 stars.

I have a Good Dog collar that I put on my dogs for our twice daily walk and I take their regular collar off for this. I don't like the idea of them not having their tags on even though they have a microchip, because too many people make assumptions when they see a dog with no tags and assume it's homeless and rather than taking it to get scanned for a chip, they just keep the dog. In case anything ever happened and I was separated from my dogs, I'd like to make sure they have a tag on at all times. This Tag-It is perfect for that. Rather than keeping two sets of tags, I can just attach one set to this Tag-It and slip it on and off the different collars. It's wonderful! The only improvement I could see is when someone, anyone!, invents a way to attach tags securely without those stupid round keychain clips. I get tired of breaking my nails and hurting my fingertips every year when it's time to put on a new rabies tag or they get a new address tag.

This is the third one I've purchased. The first one I bought for our female dane is in great shape but after two and a half years it is very faded and no longer a bright pink. I bought a black one this time since the black one I bought for our other dane is a little over a year old and still dark in color,...plus the black goes with any color collar and hides dirt so much better.These work great and make it so easy to change collars. I've never had any problems with any of them and they have stayed securely on both dogs. They are great danes and play very rough so collars, tags, and leashes need to be tough and secure. On collars larger in width than an inch I either hang from the collars D ring or I clip two of them together.
