Scarlet Darkness Women Pioneer Colonial Costume Prairie Civil War Dresses

This is a wonderful dress! I work at a historical site and it's perfect for long days. It washes well, also. With little to no ironing!

Perfect fit

My 14 year old daughter saved her money and purchased this product herself. She loves the dress and looks very good in it. However, the arms are very narrow and light especially in the upper arm area. We are considering having a side panel added which would extend up the arm as well.

Dress exceeded my expectations. I will use it giving tours at the Historical Society on the 250 anniversary of the battle of Concord.

Unfortunately I had to return this item because it didn't fit. I was able to get it on both over my head and by stepping in, but I guess my arms and chest were too thick to have this fit the correct way. The fabric was so tight around the arms, the dress wouldn't even reach the shoulder - I suppose this could be for chest size being too big too (42 DD), but maybe the combo was the final womp womp. That said, it's a beautiful dress and worth the price if it had fit. I wish I could have worn it (I'm a size 18/20 US although sometimes a 20/22 US women's dress size) but it just didn't work out. I ended up wearing a dress with similar cloth and putting an apron overtop to make it more era-appropriate (for an American Revolution historic event). Just be mindful for plus size (large chest/arms). Return was quick and easy, so worth at least trying!

It is a nice dress, but may need adjustment to fit correctly.

Zipper ripped on the very first wear

This dress is adorable!!!!My daughter has an end of the year presentation that is to be done on a historical figure. She chose Eliza Hamilton.I purchased a costume that cost twice as much first - be out was advertised as “Eliza” type dress. It was straight GARBAGE. It honestly felt like parachute material. (AGAIN, not this company or dress!) I sent it back immediately and took a chance on this one. While it’s a more casual Colonial style, it’s REAL material, and fit nearly perfect. The edges are surgered, not folded and finished out like it would be for a more expensive dress, but it’s PERFECT for a costume, and I could see her using it again one day. So glad I took a chance! Will search for this company first next year!
