The instructions are so vague that it is almost impossible to understand how to use the meter. Finally, after trying again and again to find the code, I had to give up. I got it to read the moisture in the flour one or two times and then could not get it to read again.

I was looking for a well-made, accurate moisture tester for my gardens and potted plants. The ones that say they are for plants are flimsy and break easily, and just don't get the best reviews. This guy is stout and sturdy, and seems to give a nice and accurate reading every time. It has nice long prongs on it, so I can plunge it way down into my big potted plants to tell whether they have enough moisture down deep. A also like it for testing the amount of moisture in my raised beds, to see if I need to adjust my drip irrigation system. It is very handy, and easy to read. As others have said, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Thankfully, for my purposes, there is not a lot of instruction needed--stick it in the soil, read the meter, and then decide whether it needs more or less water. Pretty self-explanatory. I do think the price is quite high, and I guess that is because it's advertised for farming. Although I wish it was cheaper, I am happy with the product, and would recommend it.

It is a ok product for the money. It is ok on accuracy.

No more guessing if my food (especially flour and rice) are dry enough to preserve for long term storage. Dessicants will keep them dry but knowing they are starting dry gives real peace of mind for long term storage.
