Works as intended
Okay, this was hard to figure out how to put on. Mind you I was a bit dense. The issue, is that the brass piece on the SHURE SB7M or whatever needs to come out, that's an adapter piece used to allow it to fit on most mic arms that use something slightly larger than a quarter-inch screw attachment. THEN you can thread on the extender. and re-apply (if needed or wanted) the brass adapter that came with the SHURE pre-installed. I just didn't know that brass piece could be removed and I lost the instructions; if they ever came with one. I don't know or remember. Only con, and this is some hair splitting, and pure aesthetics; wished the paint on the extender matched that of the Shure mic. The shure mic has a very rough matte finish, this is shiny and smooth to the touch. AGAIN, only an aesthetic issue. BUT IT works like a charm, I don't run into issues on my Blue Compass extender arm which other sites recommended this adapter for that mic arm. SO yeah, buy it if you need it. ESPECIALLY, since THANK YOU SHURE, at $8. MAN, seriously, how cool is that, 8 DOLLARS, normally companies would be jerks and charge you like $30 for this cheap adapter since it would be considered as a luxury accessory. Thank you for respecting your customers shur, I MEAN YEAH, technically this could have been made differently and you could have gone with the whole "insert mic into bungee cord cage and then have the arm attachment protrude for the cage. This just looks cleaner and less complicated.

Does the job! 👍🏽
Perfect for giving XRL cable more space and avoid damaging cable. Also gives overall setup more mobility. Solid build quality!

Just what I needed.
I own a Shure SM7b and I recently got a Rode PSA1. While I really like the PSA 1, the mounting attachment is quite short, causing the XLR port on the SM7b fork-arm to hit the wingnuts when rotating the microphone left or right. This extension arm allows the SM7b to sit further from the wingnuts and thus allows me to rotate the mic freely without hitting any obstructions. My only problems with it is that it is a somewhat glossy metal finish, which doesn't match any professional audio equipment I own. And the female 5/8ths adapter is quite deep. Deep enough to where I had to insert multiple 3/8ths to 5/8ths adapters for it to be screwed in securely to the PSA1. I didn't take points off for that, but for my purposes it was a little annoying. It's probably overpriced for what you get, but it is a great accessory to help fit some specific use-cases. And it connected and attached to my other gear without any issue. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another when the time arises.

Solid extension for microphone.
We used this to raise the mic holder for the church podium. It has held up well and gives us the height we need. It easily screws in to the mic stand parts.

Advice If Extension is Stuck
Hi - I just had this problem and wanted provide what I did in case yours gets stuck. Mine was super stuck, I could not turn it AT ALL with my hand and I tried multiple different things before this. DISCLAIMER - This is what worked for me and I couldn't find a working solution anywhere on the internet. Try at your own risk and be careful with your mic. 1. I heated up the connection between the mic and the extension for a few minutes with a blow dryer, I let it get warm to the touch but NOT TOO HOT because then I wouldn't have been able to touch it. 2. I used slip joint pliers (comes in most tool kits) to grip the other end, with one side of the pliers inside and the other outside. (PIC ATTACHED) 3. Then I safely held my mic by the arm thing and gripped the pliers and turned it until it loosened. Took two seconds before there was a little pop and then I just spun it the rest of the way out with my hands to be safe. It was almost like the pressure loosened the grip. Then it was OUT. You might get scratches on the extension itself but who cares compared to a $400 mic. Hope this helps. Seems like it getting stuck is a big problem so want to save people some grief. Added a photo for how to grip it.

GREAT EXTENSION FOR KEYBOARD PLAYERS WITH DOUBLE TIER STAND
Many times with the double tier, you have trouble with mic. I have an L-SHAPED piece sold by On-Stage Stands. It's a universal mic mount that slides into the pipe of your keyboard stand.. I attached this piece to the mic mount and allow it to extend above the 2nd tier with a keyboard on it... Works great!

Its absolutely Perfect and the price is right!
I used this to extend the reach of the Vivo Boom Arm. It did the job with one additional smaller adapter.(2") so I wish there was a 5" single piece. - I am sure its perfect for the SM7B Shure mic for adding to the Rode Boom or any other boom arm that has a short connecter. Or just use it like I did to extend the reach for any arm.

Works great with Shure SM7B and Rode PSA1
Because of the build of the SM7B, it does not have full rotation when paired with the Rode PSA1, which is an excellent mic boom arm. This piece allows the mic to have full rotation without hitting the mic boom at all.

Perfecto
