White Steel Dovetail Chisels are used for working into restricted areas such as chopping dovetails. They have a thin, triangular cross sections which offers minimal resistance in tight cuts. The blades are a hand-forged lamination of "white steel" carefully tempered to Rockwell c64 to ensure a long lasting, razor-sharp edge. The double hooped handles are hand-turned from the finest quality Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak) known for its dense, tough, long lasting qualities. Platinum colored steel hoops are fitted to the handles. Each chisel comes fully sharpened. The overall length is 9" and the blade length is 2"

Good but pricey
This is the first Japanese chisel I bought.I use it to sharpen up the corner of butterflies. It works really well and stays sharp. It is obviously a piece of quality gear. The concern I have is the price. It cost $73. For $80 you can get five Stanley Bailey chisels. So, next time I will look for a less expensive alternative.
