Paring Chisels are delicate and finely made and are used for finish and paring cuts. Traditional woodworkers use them to trim intricate joints to finished dimension. Mr. Matsumura hand forges each blade from the best quality "white" steel laminated onto wrought iron. They are thenindividually tempered to Rockwell Rc 64.The "push" style handles are hand-turned from best quality Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak). Each chisel comesfully sharpened and polished. The average length is 14" and the blade length is 3-1/2".

Awesome chisel for detail work. After receiving, put it on the strop and few passes later it was sharper then how it came. And that’s sharp! The best steel.
