Nielsen Frame: Black Rubberwood 8X10

I recently purchased both versions of this frame: bamboo and rubberwood, several of each. The bamboo frames were fine: crisp miters, both inside and outside, straight milling, and a mostly uniform smooth surface. The rubberwood frames are much inferior. Their corners are slightly rounded, the milling is not straight, but slightly and noticeably bowed, and the surfaces of these frames have a lot of imperfections. It seems as though the Chinese factory that produced them was determined every inch of their stock of lumber and trust the black satin finish paint to hide the problems; it doesn't. Bottom line: These frames might be okay for grouping on tables with better frames, but avoid them if you want a really nice presentation for your art or photo.
