RealTruck BAK BAKBox 2 Fold-Away Utility Box | 92301 | Fits 1997 - 2014 Ford F-150 All Beds

I bought the tool box along with the BAKFLIP MX4 bed cover. I needed to clear some cab space and being in construction, leaving tools in the bed you risk theft. The BAKBox not only was easy to install but it gave me my passenger seating back. Its pretty sturdy and worth every penny.

I bought from these guys based on reviews on the F-150 forums and boy am I happy I did. These guys really step up to the plate to help their customers. The packaging was great, the product is great, even the instructions are included and helpful. But their customer service was superb. I had issues mounting the box and they helped me discover I had it improperly mounted. They worked tirelessly with me through this process, and that alone makes me glad I bought my truck accessories from BAK. Highly recommended!!

I purchased this as a compliment to the bakflip cover. Very intuitive design. I use mine to store my tow straps etc.. Easy to operate and stow away when hauling. I've had mine for over a year with zero complaints. It is a bit of a booger to install.

I purchased a BAK F1 FlipBak cover for my 8.6 foot short bed F150 and added this to my purchase. First of all I want to say that I think its a good idea to have a collapsable tool box in my truck. I was hesitant to put a tool box in it since I wanted a hard lcking cover and options were limited. Also a toolbox in a short bed doesn't leave much room in the bed for anything else so the concept of a collapsing toolbox appealed to me and works as advertised. There are a couple of things though. First this is very light weight. I can't see anyone really using this for commercial use putting heavy loads into the tool box. I would guess you can put 75lbs distributed in the box and be OK but I think more than that would stress and bend things. It would have been cool if a stronger material could have bee used - maybe some sort of aluminum alloy but who knows maybe this material is stronger than I think but I'm not going to try experimenting with my truck :) Second, if you keep stuff in the box and want to collapse it then its common sense that stuff needs to go some place else. Maybe in the back of the pickup bed, ender the seal or just somewhere in the cab. This is OK if you keep things neatly in bags but not so good if you toss loose tools, dirty or greasy tools, into the box or small tray that sits in since you will need to collect those items and put them somewhere else when you collapse the tool box. it is what it is - the nature of a nearly disappearing toolbox so plan ahead and keep things in bags in the box or maybe keep a bag in the tool box to toss your stuff into when you go to collapse it - especially dirty things. 3rd. When you collapse the tool box there is still a bracket that hangs into the bed of your truck for the box to sit in when deployed. They take up 1.5 inches on each side maybe so be careful that you secure any load in the truck so it doesn't move around to bend these or damage them otherwise. this also means that you can't put a load against the side of your truck and all the way back to the rear of your bed since those brackets are hanging there to block it. This is not a big deal for me but if you you use your truck for work and frequently load up the bed then its a consideration.Overall I'm happy that I got this but feel ita about $50 too expensive for what it is (OK maybe I'm cheap) but I like that I can keep jumper cables (in a bag), a medium backpack with emergency items in it, old coat, and a small tool bag back there instead of in my cab.

Do Not Buy! I am very mechanically inclined and with that being said, this box is made and designed poorly. poor quality as well. 400 lbs of gear is a joke. I had a car jack and a few tow straps in mine and the weld broke on the support bracket. Contacted Bak industries, no response. Guess they got my money. Don't let them get yours.

Awesome idea, terrible execution. The build direction are hard to follow which is sad because the thing is really easy to build and install. Just make sure you have a drill because not all of the predrilled holes line up. I just made my own. And, it's a little on the cheep side of quality. I really hope this company does a next generation redesign because the concept is great.

Very easy to install and a great addition to hold tools and other items in the pickup box. Secure with the Backflip cover and a locking tailgate.

Easy to assemble and works as advertised. I took the tool bag and all the junk that resided under the rear seat and put it in the BakBox. Things are organized and easily assessable. Great purchase.
