Rothco's size guide is correct! Fit is great!
I chose the Vintage Paratrooper pants over the BDU pants because the Paratroopers are less baggy overall. I am 6'2", 270lb. with a 40+ inch waist. I chose the size XL pants (39 - 43 inches) and they fit perfectly. They are still loose thru the thighs, but not overly baggy. More like a loose straight fit pair of jeans. They are plenty long, but with the cuff ties at the bottoms, I can adjust them exactly how I like. The pants are stone washed for softness, according to Rothco's tag on the pants, and you can definitely tell they are. They still feel solid, they are so soft they will rip or tear easily at all. But they certainly aren't stiff like brand new BDUs usually are that require quite a bit of time and washings to soften up. I am very happy with these pants, more so than I expected to be. I will be ordering more colors of these Vintage Paratrooper pants by Rothco in the future, for sure. The size guide that is true to these pants can be found on Rothco's web site. They have separate size guides for Paratrooper pants and BDU pants.

Read Carefully!
Made in China. Material and construction seem normal/adequate. Advertised as "Vintage" Paratrooper Fatigues. Have zipper instead of button fly (minor detail and more convenient). Their are TWO size charts posted, one in the photo frames and a different one in the drop-down arrow. I am right on the cusp between L and XL. My normal pant waist is 40 (measured and all my other pants).I ordered Large, based on chart that said "40" waist. The other chart reads Large as "39" waist. The label inside the Large pants I ordered and received reads "35-39." They were much too tight for MY 40, so I am returning them. I plan to reorder in the XL size ("44" waist).READ CAREFULLY! The ad says "Free Returns on SOME sizes and colors." The vendor's decision is truly too complex. Not only does the price vary with color/pattern, but the returns are NOT free for certain patterns and sizes. They said so, but it is almost certain that buyers will miss that.In summary: OK product (if you don't mind "Made in China"), TWO conflicting size charts, COMPLEX return policy (based on size AND color/pattern); IF you need to return the item, you MAY be paying for it.

The perfect pair of Camos, with adjustable waist
I absolutely love these pants! I’m a tall girl & I was still able to wear them with heels without the awkward, high water length ! Buy the pants ladies & gents!

Great pants
I love these pants. I have three pair and will get a fourth.Prows:1. I have tried a different brand that had all buttons and lets face it when you have to go in a hurry you will really appreciate the zipper fly on these pants.2. All the pockets are button down and after the holes are broke in they work easily. I found my size and they fit great. There is plenty of room for comfort. They don't don't ride up.Cons:1. The buttons can catch in things and pop off. This only happened once but as I don't sew it is a downer.2. No real place for a smart phone. Let me elaborate. I use one of the big leg pockets to carry my phone and it works but the big pocket lets the phone move around to much and bang on things. I work heavy construction and am always jumping in ditches or around equipment. If there were a vertical smart phone sized pocket in the larger pocket these pants would be perfect.Summery:I wear these pants every day because they fit great, look great, and hold up very well to work and beating the bushes while hunting. They come faded which takes the edge off the print. Once the lightest color starts to take on a dingy tinge, from use, they look a lot more like the Asian Theater BDU from Vietnam.

used as paintball paints. on my 3rd or 4th pair.
this is probably the third or fourth pair of these I've bought in the last 15 years.for all the woods paintball I referee and play, these are a great weight, material, and color. they don't make a ton of noise swishing around, plenty of pockets for tools and misc gear. there's no padding obviously since they are not intended for paintball, but you can avoid that by simply not getting hit (:I find they run a little bit long, which is okay for my purposes, but the bottom of the legs may wear out or tear eventually. the waist adjustment pulls on the sides are pretty flexible. I have to adjust down all the way generally, and sometimes they can come loose, but it's not an issue. I guess I could fix that with a safety pin or something. oh well.

These are so comfortable & they last!! Very durable..
This is the 8th pair for me. I luv wearing these. They arrived in 3 days !! That's a plus plus for me. I have all diff types & colors and find that the paratroopers are thinner than m65 type. But still comfortable. I'm 34waist and had to go to large, as Medium became too tight after a few washes. They do shrink folks so order a size up.. I have zero complaints except for having to reorder all in size large. So now hav 6pair in medium that are too tight in waist. Well ok if y like nutthuggers, personally i gotta let my boys breathe. Excellent replacement of the medium i previously wore. 20+ goes in wash and still look new, the feel on is really comfortable. I plan to buy more in large..

Instead of returning these like I should have done
My rating is not because of the quality of the pants themselves, but rather the headache of trying to buy Rothco clothing and having to gauge their inconsistent size chart. Really this is my fault as a person that hates having to return stuff online, and not learning from my mistake.A few months back I had ordered a pair of Rothco's medium subdued urban digital ripstop pants, (pretty expensive too at 115$.) and boy were they oversized. I'm 32 waist, and according to their size chart, I needed a medium. I tried them on as soon as they arrived and were 3-5 sizes too big. Instead of risking to replace them with a small and end up having them be just the opposite problem, I deiced to buy these instead and use my original pair as a back up.So trying to be more careful after my 1st error, and also because of reading other people's complaints about Rothco sizes being off, I ordered these in a small....Boy were they small. Apparently with these pants, the sizes are dead on accurate and now I have a pair that's too small. FML....Instead of returning these like I should have done, I looked up ways for DIY tricks to expands waists. Yada... Yada... Yada... I need to buy a new pair now.

Comfy fit.
The Rothco "ultra force" model has a little bit more room in the leg/thigh area than the other versions they have available. With that said though, in my opinion, I would still go one size bigger than your usual normal dress pant size to ensure a comfy and flexible fit. If the pant's waist size ends up being a little bit too big, you can always use the side waist adjustments straps along with a regular belt to help snug up the waist area. Thats much faster/easier to do that than letting out/restitching the seams.

the length had to be shortened and then I discovered they had a seriously baggy rear end like the way kids wear their pants
Actually they are at the tailors, for the second time, the length had to be shortened and then I discovered they had a seriously baggy rear end like the way kids wear their pants, so now I am having the ass and legs tighten up..,.lol most expensive camo pants ever. I was surprised by these misfits, I have a number of different pants by Rothco and they are great. These, not so much.

To small, definitely order a size or two up.
Great pants for sure if they would of fit! Definitely beware of companies shipping from china, especially apparel, order one to two sizes up and then just get the length altered if you can. I have bigger thighs and could hardly get these pants over my legs. So just be cautious of that
