Bought this for my Grandson for Christmas!

Doesn’t look like a laptop or tablet but pretty close. My 8 year old devoured it in 2 days and now recites facts and stats from this book to me all the time.

Very impressive book! Our family enjoyed reading this book and talking about our future technology! Love the cover too. Would make a nice coffee table book. Especially nice for a game room or media room!

The material in this book is as much fact as speculative-fiction. Several of the plans included are for projects still in the spitball stage at the time of publication, so don't let your kid get their hopes up about going to the underwater hotel anytime soon. That said, it does cover a lot of things that are loose in the world now, like self-driving cars and OLED TVs. It stays pretty high level on the actual technology involved, spending more time explaining WHY the inventions are important than HOW they're actually made. This is good, as it engages the reader on a more philosophical level instead of just dumping facts out about polymerization or filtration.If i may, though, i'd like to digress briefly on the topic of the physical book. As you can see from the thumbnail, the cover is a shiny foiled silver. The page edges are silvered as well. And the title isn't sideways, you're just thinking about the book the wrong way. It's designed like a laptop, with each page printed landscape-orientation instead of portrait-orientation like a normal book. And while i get what they're trying to do (i.e. make it seem a bit more like a laptop and less like a book), it does make it a bit of an annoying read in physical terms.

I bought it for my school's library as the students love this type of book. It was well received.

Molds to my shoulder. Keeps cold long enough.....30 min. Just what I needed.
