Satisfying but not as good as book one
This book was okay. I REALLY enjoyed the first in the series and I was looking forward to this one. Although it was a decent wrap up of the story, it didn't incite the same excitement the first one did. I realize I may be treating this book a bit harshly because of how much I liked its predecessor but such comparisons are natural to make. The writing was lacklustre and the over-reliance on deus ex machina (sometimes quite literally) made it difficult to get too invested in the story. I liked it none the less. It could've been better but I was not dissatisfied.

Same as the first one for me
"Free will does come with a price" Hey guys how's it going book review time with From the Earth to the Shadows by Amanda Hocking the sequel to Between the Blade and the Heart. Since this is a sequel i did have similar feelings to the first one. Love the main character and the representation and friendship with relationships that she has with everyone. I also appreciated that author Amanda Hocking had a glossary on the important terms and names that were needed to understand the story however i probably would have preferred that with at least some of the terms be in the beginning before the proclamation started just for a refresher. Because of this and my overall feelings i will give this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars i enjoyed it as much as the first one and i truly cannot wait to read more from you. If you are looking for a YA Valkyrie story i definitely suggest you check it out

Engaging Page turner
This series kept me on my toes! It was a blast following this motley crew to the underworld and back in order to save humanity!

Couldn't put it down.
This one takes place just about right where book one Between the Blade and the Heart left off. Malin and her friends take off to the Underworld. Not only do they battle in the Underworld but the world itself is in chaos. Saving the world, working for the Gods and few major events all take place (I want to go on about it but you'll have to read about it) Oh did I mention finding that you can choose to love not just free will. Overall I've really enjoyed this series. I love the take on the Immortals and Mortal worlds. You are in for a ride and root for Malin, Asher, Quinn from the very start. I couldn't put this one down. I love the worlds Amanda Hocking takes us and can't wait to see what she will come up with next.
